We didnt eat here but the food others around us had looked very good. It is a lovely location, right on the river with boats going by which was really pretty.

Hidden gem in Bedford. Well worth the drive over for a Sunday walk and amazing roast! Easily one of the best meals I’ve had out in a while. The staff are friendly and attentive, and it’s a great cosy hideaway in the winter months.

Loved it! Good area to go walking keep in mind that cyclists also use the same walking lane as the pedestrians however it's well sign posted with priority given to walkers. Lots of ducks & swans live here and there is plenty of benches scattered around the walking lane should you chose to take a rest. I loved the views and there's also the added benefit of a coffee shop

A nice space, it went downhill after that!Undercooked beans, mushy cauliflower cheese, did I say cheese, not much of that!Roast potatoes passable but only 2....pork ok, not so lucky for the beef eaters, under cooked and stringy/tough were the words uttered around the table....complaint passed to waiter, chef will be informed! No response, 6 plates returned to kitchen with inedible beef still on them. Manager arrives, annoyed and unhelpful, basically no apology, full price must be paid! Twelve customers will not be returning, from an active Sunday Lunch Club

What a wonderful spot and certainly somewhere I’ll be returning to repeatedly. For some reason I’d imagined there being more activities, especially for children, but instead you’re left to your own devices with walks and cycle tracks through the forest and canal area. Not that this is anything to complain about though - it’s all signposted well, the tracks are in great condition and there’s lots of space for everyone. The main camp itself is a fantastic retreat though, with seating / tables on the lawn as well as veranda overlooking the canal. There’s a sizeable food and drink menu which one can order from through an app as well as from the plentiful staff roaming around. The waiting staff are certainly on the inexperienced side, however food is brought in good time and portion size can’t be complained about with the prices. The burger was flavoursome and while somewhat basic in presentation was completely satisfying - you come here for the location and relaxing setting primarily. Drinks were perfectly cold upon serving, all the tables were cleans and there’s plenty of toilets on site. This is a wonderful spot in Bedford and even if you’re not in the area for cycling or a long walk, it’s worth the trip on a nice day.

Came here after doing dog agility at JDA 2 miles away. Went for a 2 mile walk around the woods and decided it was time for a pie and pint. There is an area for folks with dogs and is inside and very nicely presented with plenty of space.Outside, you are next to the river Ouse with garden space and tables, or you can sit on the balcony undercover and watch the river go by.

been a few years ago and visited over the weekend...i must say it's very soulless and missing charm. The bike rack was full and the owner didn't like us to bring bikes in ( insurance was the reason although never been asked that anywhere before).the staff looked very unhappy and the food and drink was overpriced and the website said it was a could be a 60 minute wait for food ( it wasn't),i wouldn't expect that long a wait in a restaurant for a more complicated meal to be cooked let alone a simple breakfast.such a pity as its a lovely place to stop.
