La Poissonnerie (Monteum Ltd)

Beautifull lobsters, fresh and juicey packed full of flavour. Incredibly helpfull staff, I went just 1 day before Christmas and it was full on in there, the range of stuff they do is amazing and I will definitely be going in there to get more fish. It's a bit smelly but please don't let that put you off everything is super fresh and tasty. It was my first time eating lobster on Christmas eve and it made my and my guests night really fun and special, a real treat. Try the samphire just steam and lots of butter, don't add salt, it's my new vegetable and goes with everything.

We always go there for fresh fish and it never disappoints. I buy all my seafood from them as well. They have a good rs ge to pick from. I totally recommend you visit them. There is a very inviting and relax atmosphere in the store.

We have been buying our seafood here for a few years now. We ordered a seafood platter for a fathers day treat and collected it yesterday, It looked and tasted absolutely amazing. Comes in a shell shaped polystyrene dish with ice and lemon, We will definitely be coming back for more.

Just had the most incredible mixed shellfish platter! It was presented beautifully, everything was fresh and most importantly absolutely delicious. Excellent pricing which made it very affordable for a very special treat.Thank you, we will be back!

Well worth traveling to, it's the best fishmonger's for quite a distance we live in Littlehampton with 2 fishmonger's less then a mile from our house but the hour round trip to here is well worth it. Always looks very clean with good displays of fish making you want to eat it, staff are friendly and helpful, all places should be like this.

I went to buy crabs with my son, I initially ordered two but then changed my mind and asked for three crabs. The owner didn't seem to be happy, instead of being happy of me buying more he just raised his eyes up and sigh. He did not seem to be happy I don't know why. He was not very welcoming and no smile. At one point I thought is it my colour or he does not like ethnic minority people.As it was the first time of buying live crabs I am quite overwhelmed of seeing these massive live crabs. When we were leaving the shop we could here them laughing at us. It's a shame I went to this shop because of its reviews but was disappointed by the welcome and treatment we received . Customer service was very poor.

Arrived very early in the morning on Christmas eve (7am) there were only 2 customers in the shop (so no excuse for being less than jolly)The guy that served me was so miserable and when I asked for live lobsters which meant to had to go out the back to get them he looked even more cross. He didnt even show me the ones he had selected (which at the shop in Hove they always do) just brought then out in a bag. He was so unhelpful with my other requests i couldn't wait to get out. My christmas cheer dampened somewhat.Only went there because it opened earlier than Fish in Hove which I usually go to.Lobsters were very tasty as was the crab but customer service was shocking and this is as important to me as the quality of the fish, so I won't be returning.

Great selection of seafood very well presented....a little disappointed with the service.The odd smile or bit of eye contact goes a long way in retail. Didn't like watching a dropped Tiger prawn being picked up off the floor and put back onto the platter until we asked for the guy to take off the one from the floor.Great selection though so if you want seafood I would recommend.

Under this difficult time that business still keep high quality fish and seafood with reasonable price.Good staff and clean shop.
