Enterprise Car & Van Hire - Chichester

Shockingly terrible experience with Enterprise when I had a hire car following a no fault accident.Less than 24 hrs after collecting the car the tyre warning light came on and I had a flat tyre. Called enterprise and was advised to call their breakdown number for AA. They didn’t tell me I would be charged for this. AA found a nail in the tyre and enterprise sent me to Kwik fit. I was told I had to get new tyre through my own insurance and Enterprise took £350 insurance excess from my card to pay for this. I chose to pay £80 for new tyre as Kwik fit told me this would be cheaper than claiming through insurance. I then asked enterprise to refund my £350 excess. I was told they wouldn’t do this until end of contract. I complained and they refunded me £149. I returned the car today and was told I will get the balance of my excess, minus the AA fee within 7-10 days. I feel I’ve been totally ripped off

This company is shocking. They took money from my bank account then told me they couldn’t accept a debit card for payment so I couldn’t hire the car. No cabs were available so I had to walk 3 miles back to where I was staying. Absolutely shocking treatment. I am still waiting for my money back. Do yourselves a favour and go to a different hire car company.

Excellent customer service. Great little car. The only drawback to hiring in Chichester is the opening times. They close at 5pm on weekdays and are not open at the weekend

Rented a Vauxhall Corsa, basic model, for a week at the end of April '23.Great service. Car was spotless and had half a tank of fuel. Very polite staff, showed me around vehicle for pre inspection. Process was quick and straight forward.Car ran very well and with no issues.Returning vehicle was just as quick. After speedy return inspection, confirmed no problems and deposit returned quickly.Maybe not the cheapest, but great service and vehicle, with no additional or hidden charges!

Disgraceful company. They showed a long list of cars available for my dates from Chichester branch and so I booked, for which they took payment. I was called by someone at the branch to tell me that infact they had no cars. Repayment is via HO, which takes 10 working days. I could have booked weeks, costing a great deal of money. Not only this, but they field all branch calls to HO, where calls are manned by young poor English speaking foreigners. They also seemed unaware the branch had no cars. Pretty crummy organisation.

Absolutely disgusted and appalled at the out of hours cover. We had a breakdown and had already waited 3 hours for the RAC to arrive, the car was beyond repair, they arranged for a tow vehicle for the car. As part our policy we had onward travel, so could get a hire car, we broke down 5 minutes from Enterprise in Terminus road. At 2.30 we were told we would have a vehicle sorted and be on our way home between 3 and 5pm. At 16.40 we got a call to say someone would call us soon to discuss vehicle options, by 5.30pm the RAC had arrived picked up our car and waited with us outside enterprise, eventually he said I will take you home. We had an autistic child with us, and stressed the urgency. Cannot believe the atrocious way we were treated and will be making an official complaint to HO.

We have rented vehicles from this place every time we go to England. We will use them again. This is the SUV we had this time Elipse Cross, it only had 884 miles on it, when we got it.
