Everything has changed! We’ve been with Tremains for some time but recently we have been shocked to see that nearly all the staff we knew have left. The booking system has changed and we have found it difficult to get appointments. Is this due to the new system or do they have too many clients on their books? My research indicates that they have recently become part of a huge organisation called CVS Group Plc which operate throughout the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands. I am not averse to large organisations if they can deliver a high quality service but I’m not sure this one is doing that on the local level. I think my biggest concern recently was an error made with the dosage of a prescribed medication. I spotted the error and rang the surgery to query it. After checking, the reception got back to me and reconfirmed the error! They got it wrong twice even though they had been given the opportunity to correct it. Thankfully on this occasion it was not a life threatening error but it could have been. Is this error due to too much change and too many inexperienced staff? The new team have a lot of work to do to provide the level of care their customers received previously.

Friendly staff but not taking on new clients and would be useful if the website said this

What an amazing veterinary establishment. The staff all came over as caring individuals. All were civil and courteous. Will, especially, was sympathetic to our situation and although a company man, was on our side. Brilliant.

They have been so good to our 9 month puppy, and they have been great with my cat, Tasha

The lovely vet Becca saw my dog this morning with a lump. Offered to do a small biopsy there and then to clarify the diagnosis- great friendly service

So so disappointed with Tremains.Been here for years with Charlie and Paris, and a few nights ago Charlie wasn’t very well,We took him to Tremains and unfortunately they said he wasn’t at all well and his heart sounded awful, we knew he had heart failure although the vet didn’t look at notes when we went in so for all we know she was listening to his heart thinking it was bad but didn’t know his history. Anyway we had to have charlie put to sleep which was devastating, but when we rang back next day to get our options, they said it was 395 pounds for putting him to sleep the night before and to get his ashes back . Which really surprised us as we hadn’t even decided on the ashes.Anyway spoke to a few family members and they were being charged around 150 for putting their dog to sleep and getting ashes so understandable that we was shocked at the price we was given.We went to another vet and total price would have been 180. Used to love Tremains but they have really changed and every time went there with one of our dogs it was always over 100 and little did I know we were being ripped off the whole time.So so disappointed in them.I would avoid the place. They used to be such a caring team. But no longer give a monkeys as long as they can charge a fortune.

Couldn't have hoped for better care for our rats. Was very easy to get appointments at short notice and everyone at the practice was super friendly and helpful.
