I've dealt with quite a few mobility aids shops over the years and I've seen some pretty shoddy sales techniques. I've dealt with Clarkes four times including twice with broken down scooters, which, let's face it, is when your vulnerability could easily be exploited. I've been given great service and good advice to go with it and I would happily recommend them to anybody looking for the same.

Fitting Motability adaptionsI had my Motability adaptions fitted by Clarks of Horsforth. Under ring hand controls, electronic brake and a boot hoist into a new Seat AtecaThe work carried out was fitted with care and attention to detail and excellent customer service, I would certainly recommend Clarks Independence Centre of Horsforth for the latter work and all disability aids .Many Thanks to Howard and his team

I previously put a review on about this place and complained about an arrogant man named 'Colin' I have since found out his name was actually Derek, I feared he would be losing the company custom as he was most unhelpful. Luckily after a visit today I have found out this man has taken retirement, which in my mind couldn't have come soon enough. I had problems with my electric wheelchair which I purchased from here a few years and Howard was very obliged to help also a new young man called Tom. I couldn't recommend this this company high enough and always endeavour to help, I will always take my custom here, and I am thankful for the help.

I went to Clarks on Tuesday a few weeks ago & purchased a chair that was delivered for free the next day. My dad is really happy with it & if we need anything else we will definitely be back.

Howard and team are utter stars. My powerchair suddenly stopped working. Despite us all hoping it was something minor, it wasn't. They arranged for a replacement motor and fitted it as soon as it arrived. They were also prepared to stay open a bit late so I could collect her that day. Many thanks to all of them.

Atrocious experience. An elderly family member has a hip problem, and can't move out of bed by herself. I contacted Clarks on Thursday at 4.15pm, and asked them how much longer they'd be open for. I told them that I needed a leg lifter for a family member who was struggling. They said they'd be open until 4.45pm and I told them that we were on our way. I thought it was a bit strange that their closing time was before 5pm, (as I later saw is stated online), but I was just relieved that they had a lifter, so that my family member wouldn't suffer as much. At 4.25pm, I got stuck in traffic, so I called them out of courtesy to ask them to stay open for the next 10 minutes. They said no. I thought I'd misheard them, so I asked again and I heard the man mumble something, and laugh. I asked them again, and they said no, because it's Easter. I hung up on them, because I thought that was extremely rude, given the fact that I'd told them that we were on our way and I was asking them to stay open before their own closing time so I could pick up a leg lifter for a disabled family member. What annoyed me the most was that they knew that we were on our way, and I'd told them that we needed the lifter for a disabled person. Despite that, they were feeling so lazy that they'd clearly decided to shut the shop well before the closing time stated online, and before the time they'd said on the phone. Given that this is a shop to help people with disabilities, they'd clearly rather see an elderly and disabled woman struggle for four days over Easter than stay open until their stated closing time. I feel really strongly that if you're going to own a shop in this industry, you should care about your customers and do what you can to help. Morally, I could never give them a penny after the way they behaved.

I would not go to that shop again if they paid me . Because I bought a chair they're ages ago . And the second time we went there we was stood waiting and they served the person after us first . I go to northern mobility services now . I would not even come here

One of the very few disability oriented shops in the area. Fortunately it’s a very good one !!The shop itself has a good range of scooters for sale and the usual manual wheelchairs . Dotted around the walls are various items to make life a little easier, but if what you want is not there they will arrange to get it for you. They also do repairs as well and I believe they have a workshop tucked away .Access to the shop is as you would expect for this kind of shop (wheelchair friendly ) with a small ramp at the main door . Not loads of room to move around inside but it’s workable. The main problem I came across was the parking !!!It’s on the very busy A65 and has to compete with several nearby shops for parking . There is one disabled bay outside and several bays at the roadside . There is another disabled bay outside the GP surgery .
