Large selection of light fixtures and fittings. Wall and ceiling lights predominate but there are a few decorative items as well. Helpful staff, but not pushy!

This emporium in a former church building has a very wide selection of all sorts of light fittings. These include ceiling light fittings, table lamps and all sorts of ceiling recessed lights. The showroom also has lots of occasional tables and even some crockery. If you need some lights this is the place to go, with room to park at the front of the building.

I recently bought a hare lamp with a bespoke lampshade - which I absolutely loved. When I got home I just felt the lampshade was a bit short. I sent photos and chatted with with the shop, who confirmed that all the sizes were correct. What I didn't expect was for them to kindly offer to make me a longer lampshade, free of charge. It looks perfect. There was no fuss made and all done very graciously. Thank you Ross!

Best selection of lighting in Edinburgh and they also hand make custom Lampshades. Staff are knowledgeable, friendly & accommodating. They can also supply paint and wallpaper!

We have just completed a full flat refurbishment and the team at Cotterell have been extremely helpful with all our lighting needs.We had never been in the store before and were extremely pleasantly surprised by their competitive prices.They have access to much more than is on display in the store so it’s worth speaking to one of the team there for help. Lorraine was the team member we dealt with the most.We are so happy with all our lights from there.Highly recommended.

Some really nice pieces of household furniture on display. Redecorating meant new lampshades - duly purchased!! Another visit soon for glass lampshades - once she who must be obeyed has measured and checked their final resting positions. I was allowed to buy a cushion though for my chair!!! Nice shop. Have purchased glassware there in the past. No pressure from staff.
