Old School Apartment Highland Club

We've had a wonderful time at Highland Club in August 2022. We stayed 4 nights Our appartment, Glenlochy, Old School 1, was perfect, and the care and love with which the facilities are treated are palpable. It has been a wonderful experience. Thank you!The property sits at the shore of Loch Ness with amazing views. The restaurant is the old boat house. Nice, and practical with OK food.Fort Augustus is a very small village with a couple of pubs and souvenir shops and is a short walk from the property. Interesting to see the boats crossing the locks of the Caledonian canal crossing town.The supermarket is at walking distance.

The Highland Club was a wonderful place to stay for our family vacation. It's located right on the shores of Loch Ness surrounded by beautiful, well-maintained grounds, full of wild bunny rabbits. And the buildings surround cloisters, which added to the unique experience

Not fair to judge by my review as I am judging on 1 flat, other apartments may be better laid out or more authentic. Our flat was below ground level so not much of a view. It had nearly everything you need but the rooms are small, well to be fair they are not that small but the furniture is too big which makes them feel small. I do not appreciate having to do a sideways shuffle around the bed to get passed. No character, could have been in any bland hotel/apartment anywhere. Small pool which is fine for the max of 10 people but this does not seem to be enforced with 13 our first day despite having to book a time slot. Only 2 changing cubicles and 1 shower.The communal areas are in the abbey and keep its original architecture much better and that is the experience I wanted. The location was it's best feature right on the edge of Loch Ness., But nothing much to do in Fort Augustus itself but a good base for exploring.
