Alamo Rent A Car - Glasgow Airport

I couldn’t recommend this brilliant company enough. I had booked a Ford Focus or similar but I got an upgrade to an SUV. The young lady Pheebee was so friendly and helpful on collection even joked I got upgraded as it was my birthday. On return I found it difficult to get back into the drop off zone so I’d suggest leaving your exact postcode for the onboard navigation system. I’m brutal at computers so was probably my own fault! On return Rory was very friendly chatty and helpful too. He checked over the car in only a few mins and everything was satisfactory to the companies regulations. I’m a very hard man to please in general but I had no issues at all. Brilliant staff and service. I’d give more stars if I could.Yours faithfully,Mr Warren Donohue.

It was a very good experience from taking a car and enjoying but at the drop i was very disappointed. Car had few dents when I took the car and on my returned they said it’s not in the system. Fortunately I had a video of one dent on collecting. And unfortunately didn’t have the video of the other dent. Lady was nice at the car returned she mentioned everything in the report but for a company like this big we are not expecting such disappointing surprises. I also paid 600GPb for full insurance and even that was not showing in her system.So my advice to avoid mental trauma1. Always make a full video of a car before collection with the agent in that video and if possible take same acknowledgment.2. Take a receipt of insurance at lest via email that your car is fully covered.

If I could give a 0 stars I would. I have never encountered such poor customer service and deceitful behaviour as our family received with this company. It comes as a total shock, as we have used the US Alamo car rental for years and years with excellent service. I will not go into the whole story but renter beware, they charged us 1 month after we returned home for repairs that we DID not cause. And they did not send any repair bills until multiple requests from us and our insurance company. I would recommend to everyone renting from this location to document and photo the entire vehicle including the rims and tyres. And lastly, I would have supplemental insurance or pay for the extra coverage.

The staff at Alamo Glasgow were superb at explaining key information, providing the vehicle in a timely fashion, and providing a vehicle of good quality. I had the same high quality experience a few months earlier at Alamo Heathrow, so Alamo/Enterprise seem to be getting hiring, training, and systems processes right. The car rental return at Edinburgh 10 days later also went smoothly in spite of a lot of returns at that time.No scratches or dents on our vehicle, but as others have advised definitely check the car over and takes photos of any dents and scratches before leaving the rental.

Firstly, Linda and Karen that work on the Alamo desk at Glasgow Airport are lovely. They were very friendly and helpful. That's were the good started and ended. On picking up the car the only information I got was the usual explanation of what they class as damage and of course they tried to sell me more insurance. As I had booked online I went with the information on there which was that the deposit of £300 would be paid back with 4 hours if the car was left back out of hours, which it was. Turns out it can be up to 5 days before getting my money back. This should of been explained. Not happy

Good, really bad, then good again.Tip - When renting a vehicle, make sure you check with your insurance company first about your own policy and do not spend money with third party insurance.Arrived early at the airport last week, after no sleep on the plane. I booked the car ahead of time with Alamo through CAA and purchased their rental care insurance, an extra $110 CAD. We were greeted at the desk by Paul. He was a lovely person and it was an easy, welcoming experience.But then, we were sent to the lion's den in the back to deal with Tarun. He greeted us with you and your mum could be sisters." immediately rubbing us the WRONG way. He went on to show us the car

Dreadful company. Pre paid car in advance. Got there, didn't have car type we paid for, so offered free upgrade. Fine there, no issues and good service, or so we thought. Then we got home and they decided to take another 200 dollars off our credit card, no warning or reason.Contacted them to query this, initial lies of how this was charge that we agreed to when signed up, but funnily enough no mention of this in paperwork.After weeks of back and forward finally said they would pay back, but no acknowledgement this was clearly for the upgrade THEY offered us or apology for taking unauthorised payment.Not great, bit at least we were getting our money back, or so we thought.Received payment back onto credit card, but day later payment was taken back out again. Obviously contacted to query but they just denied this was them and said was our bank due to dispute we raised, despite the fact no dispute raised.A further month down the line and now just ignoring emails. Dispute will now be raised with bank to get money back, and legal action is pending.Avoid at all costs.

Warning to all customers: Take dozens of photos of the car when picking it up.The service was efficient, the car was as booked.But when returning the vehicle, Alamo attempted to charge damage to the vehicle. They gave up without insisting when we presented the photos showing the damages were preexistent.

Definitely the best car rental service that I ever experienced. It was minus 2 Celsius outside and snow covered all cars but our car (exactly the same which I reserved) was defrosted and ready to go! Ashley from car rental was waiting for us outside (!) with keys in her hand, ready to explain everything. The same when we returned the car, quick and smooth process.I have experince with rent a cars in Europe and I'd like to be serviced everywhere the same like in Alamo in Glasgow. Good job!

Fantastic service from interaction with Emma Findlay at the service desk and then Akash Maurya who issued the car to us. Great explanation about the car and the insurance policy and £200 bond. It couldn’t have been a more professional experience. The car was great to use during our trip.Once again fabulous service when we returned the car to Oxford. Easy, helpful and kind. They sorted us a taxi to send us on our way.My advice to others looking to rent a car - go directly to Alamo- I booked the car through a third party - Booking. Com therefore the insurance I bought was with them and not Alamo - if I needed to claim I would have had to pay the £1200 excess to Alamo even though I’d bought no excess policy from the third party.If returning to travel in the UK I would rent directly from Alamo.
