Keswick Adventures

Had a great time canoeing today with myself and 3 friends. Lewis our instructor was great, friendly and clear instruction. A really great trip! Really got the hang of it, visited an island in the lake, and got to see geese landing on the water up close.Would do it again and recommend it to anyone considering it!

Such great fun! Pete was a great instructor/guide and took loads of pictures so we can look back on the day we had. I do look like I'm drowning but honestly having a great time haha! Thanks for a wonderful afternoon.

We were coming to the Lake District to hike up Scafel Pike but thought that wasn't really adventurous enough what could be more thrilling on the start of our adventure and we ended up choosing Canyoning and ohh boy what a fantastic experience it was.In terms of finding the location we had no issues, took us right where we needed to get, parking available although limited was fine. (They are moving though I think so this could end up being irrelevant if so)Once we arrived we filled out some forms and then started getting fitted with our equipment, I must say when I first saw it I thought it was a bit overkill even though it was the end of October it wasn't freezing outside but was I wrong the stuff they provide was just amazing it all seemed top quality and well thought out and kept us as warm as you could expect doing what we did and as comfortable as possible jumping and scrambling through the Canyon.We were super lucky although they keep numbers low for this type of activity we only had 4 me and my mate and 2 others which was perfect really, I was sceptical about spending £70 each on an activity but came away feeling I got more than my money's worth.Our instructor was J and he honestly was perfect, he seemed so perfect and fitting for what we were doing even with all his dad jokes. He was just alot of fun along with being really knowledgeable and passionate about what he does and you can't fake that, sometimes safety seems overkill but everything we experienced just seemed the right level honestly I wouldn't have wanted to do this kind of activity without someone carefully planning and looking after our safety and well being.Once we were fitted with our equipment, rash vest, wet suit, socks, shoes, harness and helmet we got in the van and headed to the location about 15 minutes drive from the place, along the way J pointed out things, told facts and just answered any questions we might of had, once there we parked up and engaged in some rope drills along these almost two perfectly placed trees were we practiced clipping on and clipping off, along with an abseil demo. After this we headed up to the canyon to scramble along rocks, splash into crystal clear pools, and slide down waterfalls it was fantastic and exhilarating and just the absolute best fun we had the entire time we were away.All I can say really is if you are looking for something challenging yet exciting then dont hesitate booking this or any of their other activities we certainly will use them again if we come back to the lakes it was just that good. I don't know if £70 is alot or even cheap for something like we did but for over 3 hours of fun and with the knowledge and expertise such as equipment and J himself I'd say it was fantastic value.Best of all something we really really appreciated was the photos and videos took by J we hadn't expected this and appreciate if it's busy or if safety prevaiis this might not always be possible but for us we love everything he took a great keepsake.JUST DO IT!!

One word - Amazing! Myself and partner went Canyoning with instructor Jay at Stoneycroft Ghyll.Kitted up at their base (limited parking but posed no issues whatsoever), short but scenic drive to a car park near Stoneycroft Ghyll by Jay, in-depth health and safety/procedures when abseiling/traversing/clipping in with carabiners, short but gorgeous walk to fell entrance and then the fun began!Descended through the Ghyll for approx. 2 hours - Jay set up numerous independent abseils and traversals on the way down, lowered us down certain sections (higher water levels made this necessary) and opportunities to slide/jump into bodies of water. Jay showed excellent knowledge, skill and client-focused professionalism (putting my partner at ease and giving her the confidence to try every section, which she loved!).Jay also has an excellent selection of Dad Jokes that will keep you entertained throughout!Overall, amazing! Would highly recommend Keswick Adventures, Jay as an instructor and Canyoning in general!

We had a brilliant morning out with Keswick Adventures going Ghyll Scrambling. We were a bit concerned about temperatures as it was end of October but the equipment provided was great and the activity was designed to keep us moving and keep warm.The instructor, Ed, was great. Very knowledgeable and also good fun fitting in well with the group.Would thoroughly recommend!

Had a fantastic time Ghyll Scrambling at the weekend on our 1 year wedding anniversary. (2pm session 6th Aug 2023) I'm stating the time as didn't get both instructors names so they will know from this, (Lewis / Matt maybe) anyway both were friendly, attentive and inclusive to the needs of the entire group at all times, particularly given there were some small kids on the activity. Highly recommend and think we'll try something a bit more adventurous on our next visit! Thanks again!!

Wow what can I say, what an adventure! We booked Ghyll scrambling at Alston (2 Adults and 2 children, age 7 and 10) on 24th August. Karl the instructor was brilliant with both us adults and children, he was very funny and gave us lots of encouragement when we needed it, mainly me when I wasn’t brave enough. The kids surprised us and they completed all the challenges along the way I think this had a lot to do with feeling safe in all our equipment and the encouragement of Karl. He had fantastic knowledge of the river and knew his surroundings like the back of his hand so we felt very safe. If any family is looking for something different to do in the holidays this is a must! We absolutely loved it and are already looking to book up for next year!

Amazing day out - team were all fantastic and added to the day.We did the adventure challenge which was a great day out - even with the refreshing dip in Mid November. Would definitely look to do again (we did this on a stag do which included a group of all ages and abilities)

We did ghyll scrambling with Lewis in a small canyon. Everything went really well. It was raining, but the game in the river was even better. Swimming, sliding, jumping, everything was possible :) Our instructor adapted his approach to our group of 9 people, who were pretty quick, and took the time to take photos of the best situations. Excellent. Thanks Lewis and all the best for your next outings in the great outdoors!

Fantastic time Ghyll Scrambling. The guides were really experienced and professional. I took my two sons aged 8 and 10 and they had a great time. I also enjoyed the trip as I felt really confident that they were in safe hands.I would definitely book again with this company.
