Taxi company whos advert says cash or card payments. We got picked up paid by card. Booked a return trip got picked up by an abnoxious driver who arrived early and said cash only. We said that's we paid by card and he basically said tough. So phoned asked for another taxi that accepted card. Taxi turns up asked if card said no cash as we are in the country so doesn't work!!! Then said we'll give it a go and surprise surprise it worked!!! Will not be using them again totally incompetent

An absolutely brilliant taxi service. You can check online how much your taxi will be by the miles traveled which gives me personally a sense of comfort knowing it's not going to be an extortionate charge. Drivers are very prompt and always polite. Best taxi service I have used in Chester.

Called up for a quote and the guy was friendly and gave advice (Sun 14th May evening) When I rang back to book had a friendly lady, taxi came within minutes in a nice big clean car. Would use again

After having issues with booking a taxi from another company, I booked one with Abbey Taxis, letting them know I was in a rush as I had only 15-20 minutes to make it to the train station. They said they would send one straight away, and they did! The driver- through some sort of magic, I’m sure- managed to get me to the station in time for my train, which meant my holiday was saved! The driver was incredibly kind and patient, something which was incredibly helpful as someone with severe anxiety. And the whole journey was so much cheaper than I was expecting! Would absolutely recommend to anyone.

We stayed at Mercure hotel in Chester. We ordered a taxi to take us for a Christmas meal on Christmas day which arrived promptly,our driver was friendly and took us to our venue. Price wise was very reasonable and we rounded it off to £10 for the efficient friendly service.

We booked the cab and the driver was prompt and took us to our destination. We paid cash for the service and included a good tip. I then found I had a further charge of £1.01 on my credit card with no explanation as to why. Looking at other reviews this seems to be a common practise by this company and in effect they have taken a payment I haven't authorised. I doubt I will ever use them again and advise others not to do so too.

Been using Abbey for years. Booked a taxi. Hadn't turned up 10 mins late. Rang, was told wouldn't be long. 10 mins later still no taxi. Couldn't get through on the phone. Missed a really important hospital appointment now as taxi didn't turn up. If you can't provide a taxi just let people know so they can make other arrangements. May take ages to reschedule my hospital appointment now. I fully appreciate things may happen and you may not be able to provide a taxi but If only you'd let me know you couldn't deliver the taxi I could have made other arrangements. So angry. Will never use abbey again. Been a loyal customer for 10+ years.

Booked taxi night before to catch a train using the Abbey taxi app. Taxi didn’t turn up. No notification from app to say delayed. Phoned operator: totally unapologetic. It’s the weather apparently. Another taxi company wasn’t apparently having same problem.
