Room for ImprovementA year has passed since placing our order so we hope this is a purely objective account of our experience which can help others choose.Design phaseThis phase of the project sold F&D to us. They were very friendly, attentive and accommodating to our various requests. Having seen seven companies in all we got the impression that F&D understood our vision the best and so we signed the order.ImplementationLeading up to the build was encouraging with lots of visits to the property checking measurements and planning the early stages. Within half an hour of day 1 of the build however I was told that one of the walls was in the wrong place. When I pointed out that these were not my measurements I was still made to feel that it was my problem - anyway a compromise was made. Next the island was installed in the wrong place leaving insufficient clearance at one corner. I spotted this fortunately just 1 day before the flooring company was due in! Next I was told that the boiler had to move which was not communicated earlier in the project which delayed matters further.Throughout this phase I had to chase for project updates and frequently had no idea who would turn up from one day to the next.We were also hounded to pay for goods that had not been delivered.After sales serviceWhat after sales service? We were paid a visit by a member of the team who took pictures to help promote their business further but since then not a peep save for some follow up maintenance that we requested via the guarantee.There was no customer service satisfaction survey which in this day and age we found astonishing.ConclusionWe have a new kitchen that we like very much and as a consequence spend more time in this space both cooking and socialising with family and friends. When you spend 5 figures to get there however you expect the good initial sales experience to carry through to the end of the project and beyond.This company could be great but they still have a lot of customer service lessons to learn...

Good at the sales process and pre-purchase advice.However once fitted we had issues that required replacement - even those replacements were faulty. F&D did not want to know despite numerous messages and calls.Mediocre customer service at best - would I recommend, sadly not!We had to arrange for a private kitchen fitter to undertake the remedial works required.

Great kitchen, looks good, gives a focal point to the room. Quality of the fittings are good, as was the design and installation.I would certainly recommend F&D

From conception through to completion, F+D kitchens were diligent and professional throughout.I am delighted with the finished product and could not recommend their services more highly.

We approached Andy at F & D with a request for a bespoke TV Wall Unit, if I'm honest we were a little wishy washy in terms of our brief but knew we wanted something that would act as a feature piece in our living room. Andy has been great throughout this project, from conception he was hands on with helping us develop the product, he brought suggestions to the table and gave us an array of options, he drew up the design we landed on and upon instruction ordered in the materials. We were kept up-to-date throughout the delivery period with ETA. Upon installation day Andy popped along with F & D's fitter to ensure the brief was understood and correct. The finished product is better than expected; its high quality, modern, slick and no more wires! Thank you to the gents at F & D, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others.

Poor attention to detail, and customer service.Initially, we were impressed by the positive attitude when discussing our needs. It seemed that everything and anything was possible. In short, the sales technique was brilliant: we felt we could trust them.However, once we’d paid the deposit for the units to be ordered, the promised time frame crumbled. They’d forgotten to obtain a colour sample until we reminded them – this then delayed the planned start time, which became our fault for not confirming the colour soon enough.When the first of the units were eventually installed, it became apparent that they weren’t of the dimensions we’d agreed. The worktop was 100mm smaller than agreed. Again we were blamed for not spotting this error on the plans. The plans however, were devoid of many details, the dimensions in particular. The small print states that the plans are just a guide, anyway.A couple more examples of the lapse in attitude after payment, are, firstly, the under-cupboard pull out bin we were promised. We were told it would not fit because of the plumbing. We tidied up the plumbing ourselves and it did fit. Then we had a pull-out tray and were told that the basket in it was the largest available. We looked online and found a larger one: same make! He reluctantly agreed to change it. All this cost us a lot of time and stress.I could go on with so many other detail complaints, some of them quite fundamental, but I think the examples cited so far will act to warn potential clients to be very wary.R Barker

Should of done this two years ago - good space generation, quality fittings and installation. now just need to learn to cookService from F&D was professional, on schedule and well worth the expense
