Such a nice cozy little bar with a fantastic beer garden out back. The bar is in a beautiful location too and makes a great stop off after a walk around the river .

I have never been in a bar that exudes so much warmth and hospitality. After many years walking past this pub i decided to go in for a pint. My one pint turned into many more. In this transient world we live in it was like going back in time. The staff and locals made me feel very welcome. There is few places that will match the natural beauty of the surroundings also. If you own a motor home you can also stay free of charge in the adjacent car park that is owned by the bar. I'm so pleased I went in.

Nothing super special, but a nice little pub in a quiet riverside location, good for the Wear Way walking route and local walks, as well as being directly on the C2C cycle route. Quite dated inside but that's nice in a way. They have a beer garden at the back and a couple of tables and benches outside next to the river.
