I cannot recommend this place enough!The food was wonderful! We both had Halumi fries to start, with Fillet steak for our mains.The steak was beautifully seasoned and cooked to perfection, lovely and pink in the centre and lightly charred on the outside. A difficult balance for such a thick cut of meat!We also sampled the great cocktails on offer, trying a Manhattan and some classic jellybabies!The service was great by both the waiting and bar staff, with the manager checking that we where happy with our meals also.Some other reviews have mentioned the decor etc. Whilst it isn't the fanciest of places, I have no doubt that as the restaurant grows the owner will continue to invest in and upgrade it!It's brilliant to see a start-up in St Helens serving such great food, it's just what the town needs!

Poor experience unfortunately. The food we received was not what we ordered, steak was not cooked to the way it was ordered, chicken was undercooked and pink, chips were raw and hard. Starters were rather small for the price point. Restaurant was cold and the tables and chairs were jagged/sharp points and nails, etc.

We Visited last night for the first time the food and service was excellent the highlight was the gorgeous beef dripping gravy the calamari fritters were very small they TIP~they should be should be the size of the onion rings so a little work on those very friendly helpful staff both front of house and waiting on. You Couldn't knock that but the furnishing really need revamping if charging miller/carter prices.

Hands down the worst place I have been. Awful service and awful food. Had to send the starter back as chicken wings was full of blood. After waiting a further 45 minutes for the main course the steak was cold. Had to wait 5 minutes to be given a knife and fork. And was told they had no salt and vinegar. This was the second day open surely you expect the best service at this point. Awful wouldn’t not recommend

Dreadful experience. Visited last week with friends. Meal was booked for 7pm and we only got the starters about an hour later. We had to ask to move to a bigger table as there were 5 of us from 3 different households, placed in a booth for 4 at first. Waitress said she would have to ask the manager" if we could move ? There was also a very cheap plastic covering on the table with small holes in from use- this couldn't have been sanitised ! Other tables are painted with black gloss paint and feel like every bit of dust had stuck to it when painted.Toilets were clean but the hot water taps slow and running at a dribble so difficult to sanitise your hands properly.3 out of 5 of us disliked their steaks

Restaurant was empty when we arrived. Staff seemed like they were making things up as they went along, although they were nice. Seems like there are no managers anywhere. Food was acceptable but not as nice as miller and carter. For the price you might as well go to a properly managed, properly decorated place. Will not be returning.

Place was dead when we got there, seemed like we was the only 2 that booked in that whole evening. Food wasn't expected, raw chips, peppercorn sauce was pretty watered down, steak was too undercooked for how I asked and food went cold pretty quick. Regardless of the underwhelming experience the staff were helpful and really nice overall.

My friend had heard good things about this restaurant so two of us took her there for her birthday last night. The inside is large, but quite shabby and they'd covered all the tables with red plastic wrap like we were at a kids' birthday party. For a Saturday night the place was far from busy, but then it is still relatively new.We were greeted by staff who seemed lovely but inexperienced and our order was taken quickly. Unfortunately, they were out of ribs, which are listed as both a starter and main. This seemed to be a relatively long-term issue. We also asked for a jug of tap water for the table and received the reply I'll see if we have any jugs". We never got any water.Before our starters came we all popped to the loo. The male toilets were apparently spotless

An underwhelming experience unfortunately. The staff were very pleasant. But very green. The food was not up to the standard of the prices. My wife's meal was the main issue my steak was passable. Slightly more medium well than the medium I ordered. My wife's chicken burger was under cooked ( not the first review with this comment. Is there a problem with the kitchen staff?)The décor is very strange a cross between rustic and bad. The floors were dusty and our first table was dirty. I don't think this building lends itself to the type of restaurant the 66 is aiming to be.The menu is not really American steak House! The drinks menu also didn't reflect an American theme.It is a real shame as done correctly this idea would be a sure fire hit.

Big venue, terrible cellophane over the tables. Menus not great and not put effort into making it either, just laminated paper. Asked for a medium rare fillet and it came medium to well and didn’t taste up to much. The chips and side salad were nice. Only 1 server (who was very nice and made it 3*), 1 chef and 1 on the bar so don’t expect a speedy service. Wouldn’t come here for a steak again, a lot better places elsewhere.
