Great place to stay

Spent 2 weeks in Scotland, first in amazing location in Highlands, second in Craig's Lodges. Located in very bucolic and peaceful place, which is also very useful for exploring many areas, including Edinburgh, Perth and Borders, the lodge itself felt to be very disappointing experience for our family. In total we spent a week, 7 nights. The place is strangely managed, our lodge #6 stayed unclean, dust in every corner, window in living room and inside of all dresser drawers. Bathroom in same condition - dust and dirty in corners. Nobody was in the reception, owners didn't responce not on e-mails or messages via WhatsApp. The person who runs the place, appeared only on next day. We came from abroad, so we couldn't care towels with us, in lodge they didn't even leave towels for us. The combination of unclean environment, very old furniture, very unmodern kitchen and a total luck of any responce or attention make us feel uncomfortable and disappointed. We asked for a wacuum cleaner at a first opportunity and I personally managed to clean all, include every corner and area. As a people who travel in other country, you feel very depend on your host's hospitality. In this case and especially in compare with our first house in Highlands, we felt total fail. We spent this week trying to be as much outside as possible, to minimize our hours inside the lodge. Pity that such a good location managed so careless. We pre-payed for the lodge early in July and couldn't even imagine those things to come. Personally I think it isn't worth the prices at all.

Great wee escape. Managed to get a couple of lodges for a stay with/near friends. Nice location and a great view from the lodge.

Give this place a wide berth. We booked for 3 nights and left after 2 . If we had not been so tired we would have turned around after 2mins.It was a lodge which must have been really good in the beginning but it is now very run down, very basic and frankly not very clean. The wood everywhere needed to be sanded back and re varnished or stain. Every corner of the lodge was filthy especially the windows which was a shame because of the superb views. Major building works at the back and sides. The furniture looks as though it had been acquired at many car boot sales or auction clearances. The TV had an arial fault and the smoke alarms were all flashing to indicate new batteries required" . So much for changeover checking procedures !!!YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED"

Our second visit. Perfect stop on the way from Newcastle ferry to the North of Scotland. Cottages got a nice face-lift since our last visit. Well worth a stay.

We had a lovely weekend here. The lodges are nice and warm, fully equipped and clean. We're looking forward to going back.

I've added some of our photographs of Craig's lodges. What can I say. We've stayed here twice. A long weekend as a small group of us in the largest lodge. Fantastic accomodation, excellent location, beautiful being contained within the woods. Well maintained, gorgeous wooden lodges. Beautiful balcony with kids above enjoying the holiday. Not too far to local attractions. We have stayed in 2 of the smaller lodges to accommodate a 10 day break away. Which gave us a great holiday at a great price and shows that the Craig's lodges team are all about providing a great holiday experience. Having us swap from one lodge to the other was not trouble for us, so we could stay for a 10 day break. All other accommodations said it wasn't possible. The smaller 2 bedroom lodges are quaint, gorgeous and fit for a lovely no tech holiday. There are some with excellent views of trees and fields. lots of playful squirrels in the trees. And especially the balconies with views. Can't fully portray how much I enjoyed my birthday experience here. Drinking local whisky sat comfortably amongst the trees with my wife and nature. We will be back soon xx

So peaceful and quiet spent 5days in lodge 5 clean and tidy all amenities that you need are there. Will be back nxt year.

A great wee cottage. Stayed for 4 nights. Ideally situated if you want peace and quiet but only £5 in a taxi if you want to go in to town. The hot tub is amazing and right on the doorstep.
