Great walk up to this spot. Parking is a bit limited, and the road leading to the car park NEEDS help!! But this walk is great of you have dogs, lots for them to sniff and explore! Beautiful views of it's not too misty.

Great and scenic walk to the top. As you leave Winter Hill, there's a plaque and flowers in memorial about the plane crash.

Drive all the way to the base of the transmitter tower and you will find the plaque on the wall of the building. The view from up here is stunning and you can see for what looked like forever ! During cold weather it is so bleak up here so wrap up warm and bring a hot flask of soup. Have a walk around and explore the moorland. There are some great little pubs in the area too. Bring the camera.

Winter hill, the view should be amazing, however it was a foggy day. It's an easy walk up the service road about 4.5 miles there and back. Will be going again in the summer for the views of Liverpool, Southport etc. George's lane is where the service road is.

Not alot to see just a plaque on a brick wall, don't expect to see a plane reck. However, it's a great walk or cycle upto the the memorial, at Winter Hill Mast, with fantastic views especially on a clear day.

Fantastic, can either walk up road or off road. Nice little bit of history at the top, a plaque with details of Air disaster and another with a barbaric murder. Fantastic scenery along the way,, There's a car park just passed the road leading upto the mast. Also can be reached any route heading up hill... There's also a fishing lake at the bottom next to the road with a burger van and pub opposite the road. Lots of things to do

Fantastic walk to get up winter hill and beautiful scenery. The memorial sets a sombre tone and ensures that generations of walkers take the time to reflect on the disaster.
