I’m not usually one to complain but this night was a mess. My partner from America who I don’t get to see often was over and I wanted to take her somewhere special. I picked this restaurant. There was no full menu because of problem in the kitchen. My drink was spilled and not cleaned up so I done that myself. We were sat at 6.30pm and never got starters until 7.20pm. Offered no drinks in that time apart from when we were seated. Our plates were cleared at 7.45pm so I ordered two drinks and then we were given dessert plates when we hadn’t even had our main. Eventually at 8.20 I cancelled our main as we had plans and was told the manager would be over to see us, they didn’t. We were offered no apologies, we weren’t comped for our major lack in service and experience. I was so disappointed as I was really looking forward to our meal. Major major let down.

Shocking, first time I have been in Bovine for a while, I can’t believe how much it has gone downhill. Ripped seats, cold restaurant, slow service, don’t see me ever going back.Two of the four starters we ordered weren’t available after taking the order, then one of the main meals wasn’t available, again after taking the order, staff clueless of what and what wasn’t available.Waited for 15 minutes at our table before anyone took a drinks order, got it wrong!!We had to ask after waiting for another 10 - 15 minutes for someone to take out meal order while all of the staff where busy talking to each other at the reception/bar area.It really is a shame as the food is relatively good, best to avoid as better restaurants locally that are deserving of your custom and money.

Staff and food were simply amazing. What more can I say except thank you for a lovely dining experience. We would definitely recommend and will certainly return.The meal was a gift from family for my husband's birthday.

Our meal and the ambiance was enjoyable. However, the staff was far less than welcoming. In fact, I would describe our experience with them as abysmal. We ordered a nice bottle of red and off the a la carte menu….even though they vocally expressed their expectation that we were angling for the “value plan”. I would have enjoyed being offered more water or being checked on after being served our meals. But neither was possible without an extravagant effort to flag their attentions. Perhaps we should have not worn our $100+ jeans with holes. Perhaps we should made a reservation, although it was 5:30 and there were two other occupied tables. Perhaps we should have been kinder to the staff, but we did try throughout the entire meal to be friendly and approachable. Perhaps, we should have ventured further than our hotel to find a meal on par with what we have come to expect over our past two weeks in the highlands.

Underwhelming had booked for the festive menu and on arrival advised had to wait for the manager to confirm if this was available. manager was not around so we ordered from the market menu. felt sorry for the staff it was disorganised and staff unable to act without a manager it was awkward and the place lacked any atmosphere and food was just average and perhaps our mistake in booking not realising it was hotel linked restaurant and that they are not reliant on passing trade or customers out with the hotel

Excellent presentation & food was deliciousWe ordered the pair and blue cheese tart & beetroot starter.Ox Cheek was so tender, wonderful & and the salmon was delicious for the mains.Dessert was rice pudding and apple crumble. Yeah!

The ambience was great, food was lovely and came on time, made to specific requests too. And yes, tasty. Staff were friendly, helpful and kind, indeed a credit to the organisation.Overall, my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our evening and would be back again and again.

Delicious steak, great atmosphere, excellent service. Natalia has been attentive and looked after us very well. We will be definitely coming back.
