Essex County Council Adult Social Care

Ask for a houssing assessment, the social service send someone with no medical experience and as soon he walk the door was more happy to send us a package care" than to help. I care for someone that need 24/7 attendence but for the "OT" opinion he doesn't need. The person can't remember what he done 5 min after the action

I've previously worked for Essex County Council. It's not perfect, by any means, however the vast majority of their employees are dedicated and do their best. Years of reduced funding has led to them being unable to assist people they may have years ago.Most importantly; it's grossly unfair to review public services in the same way one would a private business. The two are entirely different.

I have been trying for 3 weeks to get some help for an 88 year old man who has dementia and nobody to help him. They have put me on hold for half an hour and i need to do things.This is so ridiculous

I have been trying to get coronavirus advice for a public event in Harwich at a time when there is a spike there. Impossible. There is no number, and when you try to get through to someone in the relevant team they leave you hold for 30 minutes and then cut you off!!!! Twice!!!! And then don't ring back!!!! What more important matter could then be dealing with than the life and death of their citizens??? A total abnegation of responsibility.

Trying to renew my spouses blue badge just been informed after 5 weeks that I had not downloaded proof of identity I had I just downloaded it again the web site is hopeless no information hard to navigate. I know this a difficult time but it is difficult for all of us

When I renewed my blue badge 3 years ago it was very easy,. However, I have been trying to use the new online system, and it awful! Just trying to speak to someone at the council has cost me nearly £20 in phone charges and even now I have not be able to make a successful application.

Would give this a minus if it was an option. This service is a joke. They forcefully expect you to follow their instructions that they claim to be in your “best interest”, trying to gaslight you into contradicting yourself and eventually manipulating/threatening you into agreeing with situations that you do not agree with by threatening to take away your legal rights. It is awful that some of the workers here are actually considerate but the vast majority are money hungry and extremely insensitive, selfish and ignorant. With social services, you’ll never get a 5 star experience. But ECC, especially Colchester’s team, they are shockingly poor in their communication and decision making. I can’t believe their service is still up… unbelievable!

Tryed to report the verbal and physical abuse of a severely disabled adult only to not have the details taken down and told to try citizens advice. Hilarious it’s all recorded and thank the Lord stored on the cloud. I hereby promise that when I’m well enough I’ll make sure he is sacked. God’s blessings

I had a Social worker contacted me last month re my care package I had never known a social worker to be so bossy I put a stop to her regular calls as she was phoning and leaving voicemails every day Tuesday to Friday I soon put her in her tracks stopping annoying me when I got anxiety and mental health .
