A hidden back street gem, so glad places like this still exist, reminds me of the pubs when I was a nipper. Traditional as it gets, a pleasant step back in time. If you want to see what a proper unspoilt old school pub looks like this place is well worth a visit. Reasonably priced beer and a nice atmosphere. Landlord is a top chap, very charismatic and welcoming. Will be visiting again.

A pub trapped in the mists of time.It’s like stepping back to the 1850’s.Proper ales are served from the famous Kent Brewery.Richard the landlord offers great service and is a wealth of knowledge. Legend says he is 256 years old.I Only popped in to use the loo and I’m still here 20 years later ...

Last of the back street boozers in Folkestone. Lovely place for a drink. Lots of history inside with old photos of Folkestone. Have had some good funny times in the ECT and more to come i hope.

You don't get many pubs like the East Cliff Tavern these days! When we walked in we were slightly taken aback by how quiet it was (no music, not a sound in fact) but very much enjoyed having a drink here and chatting to Richard the landlord about the history of the pub and the town.

A step back in time to the late 60's and early 70's but what a great afternoon. Walked into this place thinking it was going to be bad, but if you don't mind dated decor and some great characters and great conversation. It's still a proper old locals pub.

Looks can be deceiving. On the outside it's easy to miss it walking by, looking like a couple of adjoining houses. On the inside is an unspoilt interior and warm welcome from the landlord serving well kept ales. A place to escape from the pressures of the modern world, for quiet contemplation (or for the folk style music played by locals on Thursdays and Sundays). An absolute gem of a pub.
