This is jam-packed, full of history and weaponry. There is too much to look at in one sitting, items ranging from something that will fit in your hand, to a rifle or a sword. It’s hard to walk around with more than a couple of other people in there, forget about social distancing in here. The staff member I spoke to was a lovely chap, helped me straight away. I think this shop could do with a bigger space, to make it more reasonable to navigate. The prices are quite high, so be careful when picking things up. I might pop back when I have a smaller waist and deeper pockets.

We can not thank Mark enough they helped us identify a sword found in our family garden, our son is now planning a presentation at his school to discuss its origins and how it found its way to a garden in Thornbury. Thank you Mark your amazing

Could spend absolutely hours wandering this tiny shop, so much history everytime you looked you saw something new. The two men working there were very friendly and knowledgeable, they were happy to answer any questions and tell stories about the items

This place is incredible. A proper hidden gem & one of (if not the best) shops in Brighton. A miniature museum that had me astounded with the items they had in this place. Genuine samurai armour, battle swords from British wars in the 1100’s and a stone axe used by sapiens 300,000 years ago?! All for sale but at a pretty penny of course, but it’s well worth the look around (some souvenirs were for sale though such as war tokens from the 70s for a £1 which we bought). The two guys (I didn’t catch their names) had a crazy amount of knowledge about the things in their shop and history in general. Definitely a couple of very intelligent, friendly and passionate men & they explained to me and my girlfriend, in length, facts about the Second World War & some of the secrets of it. Definitely worth a visit. I can’t wait to go there again. Thank you for being one of the main highlights of our trip. We didn’t stop talking about our visit

I have been to this shop several years ago and wanted to go back. Arrived to find out the shop is closed on Sundays. This all in one of the most visited tourist places in the UK,where people normally go at weekends. There is a very similar shop in Portsmouth (Sally's antiques, which is in fact 10 times bigger and more stocked not only in the armoury dept but has also other antiques) and they are obviously open on Sundays. It appears this shop in Brighton has no need to expand business or catering for weekend visitors. A missed opportunity, but since they operate this way it looks they can afford it, so fair enough for them, not so much for the tourists and visitors.

We made our annual pilgrimage to this amazing shop this week, if we lived closer it would certainly be more often! The welcome we always receive from Mark + David is amazing, they are so passionate and knowledgeable about their stock and they will spend as much time as you need explaining the history and relevance of any item you wish to look at, so you know exactly what you are buying. You will be treated in the same way if you are browsing or buying. There have been comments previously about the high prices but when you are buying such a work of art you get what you pay for, and some of these items are museum quality. A well deserved 5*

I’ve purchased several items from this shop, my favourite being a katana. The brothers that own the shop are very informative and patient. I hope to return very soon. Highly recommend.
