Been a member here on and off for many years.Always my favourite hobby activity, bar none.

Interesting place with really friendly workers. A hidden gem (pun intended). Stumbled upon this today and the staff showed us around the place and showed us some very cool things!

They have a lovely extensive mineral collection that can be viewed, including a large number of Scottish specimens. Members are very knowledgeable and the course they run for Basic Lapidary is comprehensive.

Great place for those wanting to know more about rocks and gemstones. Good facilities for making jewellery

I am an ethiopian. I want to engage in lapidary business. So, I need your help in showing the way for- get training, nature of the business, finding market and some other necessary detailed that helps me to get my interest.

I had attempted to tumble my obsidian stones in a cheap Argos stone tumbler with less than stellar results. When I heard about the Scottish Mineral and Lapidary Club, I wrote to Scott Porter and later sent 3 of my stones to him. He took these stones and cut and polished them so beautifully it's hard to imagine they were the same dull, damaged stones. I I always dreamed of being able to wear at least one of them and now I can wear it with pride. Scott, I can't thank you enough. I will definitely keep you in mind when/if I ever need any more stones cut and polished. (I tried to post pictures but the pictures wouldn't upload).

Really interesting visit for 18 ladies yesterday. The members were very welcoming, and showed us all the equipment for cutting, polishing, and faceting stones. What patience they have, and the results are beautiful. Really enjoyed the museum with rock specimens from all over the world.
