A good experience for the kids. It's not manned and so the animals are all in cages and there's no possibility of petting them. It's still a good place to take young children. There's chickens, rabbits, goats, peacocks and an assortment of birds.There's also a small park that kids can play in whilst there. It's free to visit and there's no reservation needed.

If anyone has been shortly after it's been raining they may know what I mean when I say this place is rat infested,I counted over 30 within 5 minutes, literally all over the rabbits hutches and also inside, terrible for the rabbits health tbh.Also there was one rabbit alone in a small area, rabbits need atleast one companion and alot more space than that to run about.Except that I think it's a cool place.

Love it children do too. Why don't you have the animal welfare office carry food the children can give to the pets. They could be taught about the animals too it could be a small education project. But I've been going here for over 67 years love the fact they are maintaining it well but I do miss the paddling pool.My mother worked on the park in the last war she made camouflage nets upstairs in the provillian. There were tanks parked on the central lawn coved in the same nets. Have fun.

Lovely, has a lot of birds, rabbits, guinea pigs and goats. Great for kids, has a play area and benches also.

Always a great family day out regardless of the day. However, there is nothing like Abbey park on a warm summer day at the weekend.Busy - but ideal for a picnic with the little ones. Plenty of space to run around, great for dogs (be aware there are free roaming geese and swans and dogs arenjor allowed in Pets Corner).Weekdays are quieter as you would expect and very nice for a walk. Pets corner is small but considering it is free it's great for kids. There is mini-railway for kids to but this hardly ever seems to be operating.Never struggled for Parking across the 2 car parks. Parking is also very reasonable, roughly £1 per hour.

Not that clean, way too mamy insects flying everywhere. Animals don't look well treated very small space.

Love it here!! The guinea pigs are our favourite - so friendly and came over to eat the grass we were putting through for them.Nice little park area with a slide, a few rocking animals and a little house/shelter.
