Harry May Fishing Trips

My son and I joined Harry on a deep sea fishing trip in October. The boat ride itself was a treat with beautiful views of the shoreline. Harry has been living and fishing in the area for many years and he knew the exact fishing spots. We caught a few different species including mackerel, black bream, whitebait, also a shark like dogfish and conger eel that were released. We had an option of taking the fish back and the local fish & chips kiosk Herbies cooked it for us. Wonderful day out and we loved every minute. Thank you

My husband and I took our 4yr old on his first mackerel fishing trip this weekend and we all had an awesome time, Harry was fantastic and we managed to catch our lunch which is a bonus!We will definitely be returning for the 3hr fishing on our next visit.

Booked deep sea fishing as a surprise birthday present for my husband, who frequently said “I’ve never caught a fish”. Well, he has now - 9 in fact! Harry made the trip awesome for him and we enjoyed eating the freshly caught fish when he got home. Well worth every penny and he would highly recommend this trip to everyone!!

Fabulous fishing trip! We had never used a rod before. Harry provided all the rods and bait, and helped every participant individually so they could use the rods correctly. So exciting when you feel a fish tagging on your line, you ‚strike‘ and pull one up! Quite addictive actually!Harry is super knowledgeable and friendly and lovely to chat with. He also helped gutting the fish, as we wanted to bbq ours straight after the trip.Weather can definitely be an issue, so you cannot expect your ideal date to work. Best call Harry and speak to him in person if in doubt.We are seriously hooked and will go with Harry again most definitely!

6th July 2022Plenty of mackerel today , because there was a massive shoal near the coast. I cooked some of the mackerel the same day in my caravan at whitwell farm. Colyton , also used some for bait at Seaton beach .I first went on fishing trips with Harry ,when he was working for Victor Homyer and I was a member of BAC angling club .

Thoroughly enjoyable mackerel fishing boat trip (Aug 2019). Flexible, low-key, straight to the point, and doesn't go too far out at sea. With a husband and an 8.5 year-old prone to seasickness, it was remarkably free from any attempts at feeling ill over the railings. Joe, the captain and Harry May's son, threw two to three fishing lines as we got out to a suitable distance from shore, and all three of us had the task of feeling" the lines for any tugs from mackerel. We then helped to reel them in

Great 3 hours deep sea fishing with Harry this morning, some fish were caught and Harry was brilliant company. Looking forward to doing it again next time we are in the area.

Great day out. Harry did a top job looking after us, we fished on a few different wrecks, eventually catching a few dog fish. Would recommend to anyone. 10/10

We had the best time on the Harry May boat trip. Harry made a huge effort to make sure we caught our mackerel, really looked after us, especially our 8 and 7 year old girls, and excellent recommendation to get it cooked up at one of the fish shacks on shore - the “Harry Special”. So tasty! Thanks for a great trip and highly recommend.
