What a hidden gem. We didn't expect such fabulous food in a country pub. A seafood platter beyond compare! Amazing service and super dog friendly too. Highly recommended.

Purchased 6 pints and still had to pay a parking fine for use of their car park. Ridiculous venue that doesn't remind customers to sign in. Their staff are always rude. We are locals in Llangynidr and will never visit this pub again.

Restaurant Review:We had dined here a number of times over the years, sadly though, we feel it’s lost its identity. The menu was nothing like as advertised online - it had very limited options, it’s much more of a fish restaurant. The food was ok however we felt the starters and desserts a little pricey for what we got and also the steak wasn’t rested. We also felt we were rushed through the courses, sadly we are not eager to return.

Set in a picturesque setting beside the canal with views of hills and woodlands that you would expect from the Brecon beacons national park this place is worth a visit. The staff are very respectful and welcoming and the food of a good quality with the portions being ample. Price wise I would say slightly, and only slightly, above the average for the area. Although this is obviously a food led pub they do have a good selection of keg and cask on the bar. Wines and gins are also varied but other 'top shelf ' drinks less so. As for the accommodation this is all on the first floor with nothing to assist anyone with a disability that prevents the climbing of a relatively steep flight of stairs. Whilst it's to do with the age and layout of the building itself and nothing to do with the current ownership the room we occupied had a few steps and trip hazards for the unwary. Having said that it was spacious, clean and comfortable.

Genuine 5 star independent pub and B&B. The landlord was very friendly and kind. Made sure we were all well catered for. Turns out he is also the Head chef and does some great food. Came and and chatted to us over dinner to make sure everything was OK. The pub and BB are suitable modernised. The rooms are good size clean and fresh. We stayed for 2 nights and would not hesitate to stay again. There is plenty of parking, although the car park is owned by someone else if you give your reg at the pub they will cover the cost. Landlord was also OK with a few campervans staying the night as long as they came in for a beer or 2. Great service thanks coach and horses.

We stopped here for food on a Sunday and only thing on offer was a Sunday lunch not everyone enjoys this meal myself included. We had to sit in a field across the road from the pun as it was that full, the food was cold and hard and tasted like it had been cooked a while, was very disappointed with this meal as the food is usually beautiful

Lovely pub and restaurant. Great place to stop and watch the canal boats go by. We only stopped for a drink but ended up having sandwiches as the food looked so good and it was. Roast beef sandwich and tuna ceaser salad, both delicious. Great service, friendly staff highly recommend.

Lovely staff, very friendly and welcoming of our dog too. Good range of lager, ale and cider. Menu is weighted toward fish but they have options for all. Food arrived in good time, was delicious and there was plenty of it! I will definitely be back.

A mate and I stayed over the weekend to do some hills. We had a great stay the landlady and landlord we absolutely brilliant nothing was to much trouble. The girls who make up the staff were both friendly and professional and extremely helpful and attentive. The landlord is also the chef and the standard and quality of the food is excellent whilst he is busy in the kitchen he will always between service pop out and come and say hello his wife is also extremely busy taking care of front of house, chatting to guests and making sure everyone is happy, it was an absolute pleasure to stay , I have stayed in a few places in the area over the years and I can say the welcome and hospitality is truly both warming and genuine.I will most definitely be staying again
