Compound Coffee

Regardless of how good the coffee or food at this place may be to some people, customer service must be maintained at a high standard and that isn’t happening - this establishment has failed to show any signs that they care for their customers regardless of their race, gender, etc. My friend had the worst experience here today (20/03/2023) and it was extremely disturbing to hear how the manager/owner treated her and her friends. My friend’s did not do anything to warrant the rudeness, threats and cold demeanour that she had to experience. They felt threatened, unsafe and disrespected. The manager’s behaviour left them speechless. The senior management team at this establishment needs to be closely reviewed.

Delicious coffee and hot daym the pastries are delightfully indulgent! The staff are a joy, attentive, helpful and friendly, all combining to make a lovely atmosphere even sweeter! So nice to see an independent coffee shop open aswell! Great job compound coffee, I will deffinately be back.

Very bad venue owner who racially profiled me. As me and my friends were sitting in the cafe the owner kept coming up to us and disrupting us with excuses. Said I’m not allowed to use my phone. Accused my friend for talking back, treating her like a child, shushed her while she was talking, told us he’d call security on us, asked us to apologize to him so we left, said people complained about us saying we invaded their privacy. As we were leaving he escorted us and told us if we come back then he’ll call police for anti-social behavior. Never coming back.

Great little coffee store, always stop here on the way into work. They really know what they are doing and the beans they use are great quality. Also highly recommend the brownie and pastries. Reasonably priced. Definitely worth a stop if you are passing by!

Coffee amazing once I'd asked for it to be in a cup after not being asked if I wanted a take away cup or not. No pastries which is usually on offer and would have spent more. Sorry to say, terrible customer service and I would say 6 months ago was brilliant :-(

Me and my friends were in the cafe, my friend was on the phone to her mum and he came over and told her to put headphones on, later on my little sister called me and i was telling her i need to end the call, the owner then comes over violently and starts being rude and saying that we’re “ breaking rules with outside food and drink “ me and both my friends each had one water bottle and no food and my friend bought a water bottle from the actual cafe. This was a racially motivated attack as people in the cafe were talking way louder and interacting. I asked the owner what food and drink we had then he comes back over rudely and shouts at me and tells me to not talk back as if he’s my teacher at school and then he proceeds to “shush” me very rudely. I said that me and my friends are leaving and he starts chasing us out of the cafe and threatens to call the police on us for “antisocial behaviour “ when we were in the cafe just as anyone else was, studying , chatting and drinking water. I felt very unsafe infront of this man and i would never return again.

It’s so disappointing when i take my friends who came all the way from jordan to visit me here to this cafe. the manager acts rude and attacks us for no reason, just because we were arabs i believe and then he kicked us out and threatened to call the police for something we didn't do!

Thank goodness this independent coffee venue has opened! I don't understand the review mentioning the manger? It seems pretty vindictive ... Anyway the coffee is amazing - and we really need to make an effort to support places like this before Costas and starbucks take over everything.
