Gayton Marina

Our boat holidays for the last 15 years have been based here. Staff are always professional and accommodating. Friendly people make the whole experience so much better! The reception shop also has everything you could possibly need for boating. Would recommend boating here.

LONG overdue review. So, I booked thru RCI & that was easy. The location was easy to find & just a short trip from the train station. From the very start of the trip (despite even my captain not showing up.) The staff was 110% accommodating. Jodi & Mandi went above & beyond to make the trip amazing. They spend their day off taking me out in the canal boat & even brought lunch snacks. Along with a full British girl crew to have a fun day out. Also, helped with personal lessons on locks along with navigating and steering. I even was able to park it in the marina & given a lesson on that as well. Office staff was helpful thru the entire week. Would 100% rent from again. Any time I had a little bit of trouble figuring something out with the boat they had been able to assist or answer the questions. I can't say how happy & pleased I was with everyone at the location. Only improvement or suggestion might be the WiFi onsite, but that was never an intended inclusion at this location or having the boat in marina most of the week.

Hired the day boat yesterday. Weather was awful for the first hour or so, but we were having such a great time we didn't even notice! Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Boat itself was fantastic, well stocked with equipment, and plenty of room for the six of us and the dog! We will definitely be doing this again!

Great holiday. Friendly staff. Such a nice slow pace of holiday, I don't think I've said morning and hello to so many people, everyone on the canal is friendly the ones I spoke to were helpful. If you have never been on a narrow boat holiday going from gayton you will hit locks if you don't have worker hands take work glove. Also take what you think you will need in terms of weather, sun lotion, hat or coat if you are steering the boat you a out in the elements all day. I'd personally would say 2 capable people are needed for locks 3 to get through quicker.

Contrary to some post iv seen this site isn't that bad the only down side for me is the size of the stone chippings and yes there is the noise for the A43 but that is easily ignored, but also the receptionist need a mention, stuck up is one word ,and not very professional one of them referred to my wife as the other one when speaking to my mother. Toilets and shower room are very clean, bit of a shame you can't get a coffee or snack and sit out next to canal

Out walking and went to use the shop. No cakes or snacks. Disappointing that there is no cafe on site as it's a lovely marina.

I would definitely recommend Gayton Marina there are lots of routes you can do from the marina. The staff were helpful and friendly as all ways. I would just I to say thanks to Chris who did our hand over.

Great day out! Never having been on a canal boat before, I was a little apprehensive. But the really friendly man giving the instructions really put me at ease! My children, grandchildren and my husband and myself had a lovely time, with time to stop for a picnic too! Definitely will do this again!

There on an ABC boat (spotted wren) but so, so much better than previous two marinas we have used, where cleanliness was lacking. Here the boat was spotless. In good condition. The marina staff were uber-friendly and very efficient. Chris gave an entertaining handover and even donated a cap to the canal! Phoned us within minutes of leaving the marina to warn us of an issue with a lock heading north. The only issue we had was hose related and they gave helpful advice over the phone. Would highly recommend the team here.
