Select Seeds

I discovered Select Seeds when I was looking for a particular sugarsnap pea seed (Lusaka). I am not great at online ordering so I rang them to see if I could order over the telephone, which was no problem at all. The lovely lady I spoke to was friendly, helpful and polite. My seeds were despatched promptly and were only delayed because of the postal strike, followed by the bank holiday. The packaging didn't have sowing and growing instructions which might be helpful for novice growers - I suspect this is because they generally sell to people who are more experienced veggie growers than me - but this is easy to look up so isn't a big issue really. (I only mention this in case any veggie growing 'newbies' might be expecting there to be instructions). I believe this is a small independent company that specialises in seeds for vegetable showing, but they are a fantastic find even for a wonky vegetable grower like myself. I rang back later that day and spoke to the lady's husband who gave me some expert advice about pollinating my reluctant squash plants, which I will definitly be taking on board for next year. I will definitely use them again and would recommend them to others. Nice to find a small independent company which offers a good old fashioned standard of service.
