Well .... I'd give this far more than 10 ☆ if I could ! Brilliant value, incredibly interesting and kitted out for young, old and inbetween !! We hadn't expected so much to see, read, do. The harbour is set out with old fashioned shops, information rooms - even a Horrible Histories play area (with some gruesome facts !). Theres a children's outside play area. We arrived at opening time - 11.00, and left at closing time - 4.00. The sailing ship is superb to walk round - watch your head !!! There's a lot of bending, not sure I'd have survived in battle in those days - times were most definitely hard !!! Cafe, shop and plenty of toilets. No problem taking your own picnic. Ticket lasts 12 months. There is a really interesting museum as well, we only just allowed enough time to look round !!! Great area for parking (free) no height barrier. Great volunteers, knowledge and happy to talk. There's half hourly demonstrations with a cannon, and looking at swords, guns etc. And there's a exhibition which takes you upstairs for a walking tour story - really good. Brilliant value and incredibly interesting. Would highly recommend.

This is an excellent little museum well worth the visit. We enjoyed wandering around the exhibits and listening to the commentary in each of the houses around the dock. It provided an excellent insight into the life at sea in the early 1800’s.The ship was interesting to explore as well and it’s history was well documented and easy to follow. We also enjoyed the demonstrations of firing a musket and a small cannon. The tea room is also worth a visit their scones were excellent.

Wasn't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised and engaged by the exhibits and the ship itself. Really enjoyed the weapon demonstration, as well as the 'Fighting Ships' exhibit. Very informative. There is also a small kids playground on site. You can spend a good 2-3 hours here. Would certainly return.

It was ok to spend an hour or so. Slightly disappointed as some of the display cases lighting wasn't working. The little shops/different trades were good but would benefit from more information being put in each section where people were shown working to explain who they were and what they did as it seemed there was one general information part but this could be made more interactive.

Brilliant day.So much to see, plenty of staff some in period costumes which was good. The main tall ship was excellent to go and explore, the shops were so interesting of the period days. Great day for all the family. Highly recommended.

A great place to explore, and a fantastic opportunity to go aboard a Napoleonic era British man of war. There's plenty to see along the quayside and the cafeteria is well worth a visit for a snack and a beverage. Throughout the site the staff are very friendly and helpful. Your ticket gives you access for a year, I'll certainly be back in the future.

Really lovely place to visit with a partner, friends and family! The history of Hartlepool and the Royal Navy itself is fascinating! There is a cafe for great refreshments and a gift shop that sells all sorts of pirate and royal navy related gifts! A perfect day out!

Absolutely brilliant. All extremely well done and very smart. Well worth the entry fee. Very interesting and we really enjoyed the arms demonstration. Be sure to explore the ship below decks. We intend to return soon as our tickets are valid for 12 month's.

Pleasantly surprised. I wasn't expecting the Portsmouth naval dockyards or anything but there was enough there to keep me entertained for a couple of hours. Lots of things for kids to do, so I was a bit disappointed I didn't bring my daughter! Hartlepool museum attached is a nice bonus.
