A lovely quiet camp site away from the hustle and bustle. Has a decent shop on site for essentials. The toilet block was spotless (but the tiled floor can be very slippery when wet)The whole site was spotless. We booked into the Bell tent to save us from taking our usual tent. This has a log burner stove, electric and a small light with plenty of room for a family of 4. I have added a video of the tent because there are no images of the inside. There are a couple of local pubs a couple of minutes walk from the site that serve meals. So if you're not afraid of tackling Hardnott pass to get there, then this is a little gem for peace and quiet.

My son and I stayed at the site during a backing trip around the Lakes. We were walk in customers on a rainy day and were really grateful for the the kind and helpful attitude of the staff, who welcomed us, even though we didn't have a booking. The site facilities were really good and the price of £19 was really cheap for two people.

Gold-Standard Camping. Best camping experience we've had in years. From the warm welcome by the team to our final goodbye it was magic all the way. Level ground to pitch on, modern facility block that includes spotless showers, toilets, washing up areas, drying and laundry rooms, information room and shop with coffee on the go all the time and hot rolls in the morning.Ravenglass and Eskdale steam train, walks from easy to to very energetic, the daunting Hardknott pass, it's all there.Terrific atmosphere.Simply the best.

This was our second visit and again we found the site so clean and well maintained. The staff and rangers are the most friendly guys you should ever meet and always on hand to advise on places, directions etc. We will certainly be visiting again as soon as possible.

Beautifully kept campsite, staff were really helpful kitted out with a full toolbox for our motorhome disaster! Facilities were extremely clean and the shop had hot pastries to order in the morning. Walks from the site were lovely and the pub and train station only down the road. The roads in are quite narrow in places.

Superb experience. I'd not camped in years, partly because of how I expect these sites to be. But I was really pleased with the facilities, very clean and modern. The lady showing us around was very friendly. There's WiFi and coffee and croissants and a well stocked shop, as well as a nice pub around the corner. Will be on the lookout for other NT sites from now on!

We've been camping here for years, several times per year. Fantastic location, plenty of walks at its doorstep, great pubs nearby. Fresh pastry and pasties available and pizza days as well for those not willing to cook breakfast or dinner every day. Shower block very clean. Laundry and drying room available too. But most importantly the friendliest, kindest staff always helpful, going beyond what's necessary to keep their customers happy. Back again in October. Monika, Julian and Gucio

What a lovely place, nature at its finest. The camp is well organized and the facilities are more than sufficient to live comfortably for couple of days. (Shower, laundry, wash room and shops). The staff and reception were very nice.
