Fishguard Fort
An historic fort now ruins that was used to protect the sheltered harbour below.A short walk from the carpark at the top of the hill past Fishguard . The carpark has easy pull off.It is an unpaved path, so sturdy footwear is always recommended. As well as the view there is also interesting plant life to see.

Fishguard Fort
Small fort remains with easy access from a car park just north of Fishguard. A quick stop for a lovely view of Fishguard bay.Lacking in education value as there are no explanation plaques or signs. But still a nice piece of local history.

Fishguard Fort
Parked at the cliff top just above Old Town and walked down to the Old Fort.It was 3pm, and no one else was around except us, the wind, the rabbits, and the birds.Love coming here for the breathtaking views and today playing pirates with my grandson in and amongst the ruins and the canons! Once at the fort, there is access to the coastal walk. There is no charge for parking. The lane down to the fort is a bit rough and rocky. When wet, it's slippy. Plenty of spaces to have a sit and ponder, or just enjoy the views and the sound of nature.Nice gentle walk on the way down, a bit more effort required on the way back up!It's beautiful in all seasons....

Lovely walk with fantastic views. Free car park and only a two minute walk to the fort.

Fishguard Fort
Well worth the 1/4 mile walk from the car park. I’m not great on my feet but it was easy enough, especially when the sun came out to make the views even more beautiful.

Fishguard Fort
Look, the reality is that this is an open air, 16th Century fort that, although has its place in history, is a simple walled platform with 4 cannon in situ (there are at least 2 more of the same style in the town). I like the history and, to be honest, the views over the port and area are excellent. Not the day we went as you can see, but worth a 2 minute walk from the free car park if this is your thing""

Fishguard Fort
Barely a few cannons and some walls remain of this fort which was once a significant but small military establishment. Has a fantastic view over the Fishguard harbour and bay. Visit is highly recommend. No admission fees and a very short walk from the car park which is free to park as well. Has a coastal path for hiking as well which takes you down by the sea. Nice and quant place.

Fishguard Fort
A small fort just outside Fishguard with terrific views out to sea. Easy access from the car park just over five minutes away although it is uphill on the way back. Several old cannons in place and according to the information board housed searchlights during WW2.
