This evening we thought we'd treat ourselves to some fish and chips but atfer visiting Nemo we wish we hadn't! The takeaway wasn't busy however the young chaps loitering behind the counter were failing to acknowledge there customers. After some time waiting patiently we had to approach the counter to ask them to take our order which the young guy was surprised about. After taking our order the other customer left as they continued to ignore him! We waited as least 5 minutes when the young lad maning the fryer looked at me and said you want some fish!" At this point I was trying not to get angry as clearly Nemo was running some young correctional scheme to help the youth get off the streets Betws-y-Coed and to learn a good honest trade. I said yes to the fish "two please" When we finally did get our meal the guy did apologise for the wait. Nemo doesn't offer to salt or vinegar your chips but has a self service table

Visited 10th April 2023Orange Fish - what they Advertise; Finger fish in chips - what we got.By far the most unsatisfying Fish N Chip experience to date, We first visited them last year in Llangollen and the quality then was very good if somewhat expensive. This year the quality has gone down to the point that we may has well have gone to a greasy spoon truck stop; we spent over £14 [and as other have said, we were charged for the cheap wooden cutlery] which got us the small and very thin fish in the photo. The fish was paper thin and mostly batter, and the chips were bland, soft and evidently re-cooked, We can only assume that the increased costs has tempted the owners to seriously reduce, quantity and quality. This will in the end backfire on them as word will spread about the now appalling quality of their product. There are other establishments in the same shopping complex and it will only take one of them to produce a decent fish N chips to steal Nemo's trade; what a shame.The ONLY reason we ate it was because we had a 4 hour drive ahead of us and is was pouring with rain; this meal was all about sustenance and nothing about enjoyment at all.

Ordered two scampi and chips. With 2 teas. The chips were the worst we've ever eaten. Dry cold and tasteless. Definitely not freshly cooked. The sad scampi was way too over fried. The meal was a total rip off. Shame on this place offering such poor quality food. Wish we'd read the reviews before.

Food was below average.Tried chicken nuggets, fish and chips, burger and sausage.It was too oily and not so fresh.Curry sauce was the only good thing.The price is normal.Ambience is good.

Nice place, tasted very nice. Looked a bit run down from outside and the reviews scared me but the place was fine! Fish was nicely battered and chips were fine! Worth the price!

AVOID! Truly awful! Never eaten a hollow lifeless corpse of a chip until today. Save yourself the trouble and eat elsewhere! £3.25 wasted.

The worst takeaway pizza and also the worst chip shop chips we've ever had! He Pizzas are £9.95 each but are soo small. They came with uncooked bases & thr bases look like the cheap premade ones. The toppings had zero flavour and I couldn't even eat one piece. Unfortunately we bought two, not know what we were letting ourselves in for. Our son wanted the kids chicken niggest & chips but they had no nuggets, so we ordered him the sausage but the chips were undercooked and soggy. Honestly the most disappointing & unappetising chipshop meal we've ever had which ruined our evening. We couldn't go back and complain as we'd driven away with the food.

can honestly say that we haven't enjoyed fish and chips this much in a long time. We visited today while on holiday in Wales and decided we wanted fish and chips for lunch. My partner had fish chips and gravy and I had fish chips and curry sauce. We had to wait a short time as it was all cooked fresh and on opening our boxes to eat were treated to lovely large fish in the crispiest not greasy in the slightest batter and perfect homemade chips. Both the gravy and curry sauce were smooth no horrid dry powder lumps and so tasty. The curry sauce is genuinely the tastiest I've ever had. would give more stars if I could for the service and cleanliness and will definitely be making this a regular visit whenever we're in Wales.
