Train on time, easy station to use and a great summer offer by South West trains to get to London for the summer holidays, £16 for adults £3 for kids, saved me having to drive making the day more relaxing for me after fighting through the crowds with two kids.

The whole station had a general air of depravity, accentuated in particular by the constant scent of urine that assaulted my senses from the moment I arrived. Only has 1 star as our overlords at Google wouldn't allow me to put 0. Would use again.

The station is staffed for certain times, and it is great when it is. I think it's mostly mornings before a certain time, and you are able to buy railcards, etc, when this is the case. The man working there is really helpful, and will always check up times for you, etc, as a matter of course, when you are buying tickets, etc. There is a pop-up cafe outside, which is useful. The negatives are that there is no loo or waiting room, although there is more shelter than in lots of small stations, and that it seems a hotspot for bike theft. My kids had theirs nicked from there by someone who had professional gearfor chopping through locks. I would never leave a bike there again. Other than that, it's handy for travelling locally and in the London or Weymouth directions.

Often no staff. I had booked prepaid tickets but although I put in the correct code it went thru the onscreen process fine but did not dispense any tickets! As I was travelling the next day this was not a total disaster, however I had to get into Bournemouth station to get them. Be warned..

Branksome Station is very small. It's reasonably well kept, but is quite dated now, compared to the likes of Reading station. It's only manned for half the day, thought the station master is a very friendly chap. Most mornings there's a coffee/ breakfast vendor, but aside from that, there's no other refreshment on site (there is a corner shop 3mins walk away). There are 2 ticket machines, 3 departure boards, and bike ramps on the stairs. However, there's no disabled access from the platform and no toilets. Parking is paid for via an app.The platform is also very short, so if you're disembarking you have to be in the front 5 carriages of your train. There are a few benches on each platform under a canopy.

Station with two platforms, one to Weymouth, one to London Waterloo. Carpark here, early morning cafe and ticket machines. This station is only manned until 10am daily. Tesco (public restroom) and Lidl across the rd as well as Wessex retail park next door.

The station itself is quite pretty, though it's lacking in facilities. There are steps down to both platforms so it is unsuitable for those with reduced mobility or with pushchairs and there also aren't other things like waiting rooms or toilets

Branksome, Upper Parkstone and Bournevalley's nearest railway station is served by the SWT Weymouth to London Waterloo route.
