Blue Reef Aquarium Portsmouth

Thoroughly enjoyed our trip. Louise and the rest of the animal care staff were super knowledgeable and caring, and this came across in the talks! 100% would go again!

What a great day out, located in the family friendly area of Southsea, Blue Reef is just one of many ways to spend a day, and spend an entire day there you very well could!The staff are great, the site is large and contains a fantastically diverse array of animals and the gift shop is filled with brilliant trinkets and collectibles that are almost (but not quite) as eye-catching as their real life counterparts.Ticket prices are fair and there is a cafe on-site that I've heard good things of (but am yet to try myself.)If you're looking for a way to entertain the kids, a romantic afternoon getaway or you're just someone who likes watching animals simply be, then I could not recommend Blue Reef more.

Awfully overpriced for a place crying for refurbishment. The poor lighting in the tunnels made it so unattractive. The two star is for the aquatic and reptile life there.

Nothing like it used to be very disappointed. 14 pound admission all done in 20 minutes walking round slowly!

The 2 stars is for the awful ladies toilet. My husband said it’s the same with men’s toilet. Negative- It was very wet on the floor. Not just a small area but the whole floor. Impossible not to get your pants wet. Dirty and broken toilet. No signage and warning. There were school children in and out. What if they slipped? I’m furious.Positive- Apart from that, u get a stamp on ur hand and you come in and out for the whole day. A cafe and fish and chips outside which u can bring in and sit by the playground.

Sadly this place is getting worse and worse.There’s not much to see anymore; you can comfortably get round the whole place (including reading the signs) within 30-60 minutes, which is not really worth the prices charged.Luckily it was a sunny day so I was able to take the kids into the outdoor splash park. It’s very small, so wouldn’t be great on busy days but we were lucky and they were the only kids for most of the time. So they happily played in the water and the sand for a long while.But realistically, I had spent £30+ for them to play in a splash park across the road from a free one and see few fish more than they could see at a decent fish shop.

Came here for my daughters birthday on boxing day last year. Loved it. It was quiet in there due to time of year but that made it much nicer for us, we could see everything and a nice pace to look around.

This place is so beautiful, quiet and calming. That’s one place I would definitely go back to. It’s affordable too

Nice fish experience, loved the local fish tanks, idea to expand in this area? However having a mix with tropical fish is great for kids. They just love to see dory and nemo. It takes about 1 to 2 h to go through the experience, easy to park in front or near the place, we paid 48 £ for a family entrance.

Really fun activity to do, great for little ones (although me & my partner went without kids!) My only disappointment was that it was over too quick, for the entry price, I wish there was a little more to see there. But we definitely had fun & enjoyed it. Would recommend it you haven't been before! :)
