First time sit down Indian restaurant experience for myself. Luckily I had someone who was well experienced. Food was phenomenal, portions were just right, the owner was constantly checking up on us to make sure we liked everything and if we needed anything more. He even tried warning us to not order so much at one point! Haha

Wanted to have dosa and after a lot of research came up with Vedanta. It already had a high rating and I must say the place deserves it. Very easy to locate though they don't have parking. For lunch the place was a bit empty but I guess for dinner you need to book a table before hand. The food was really good, a very good ambience with good traditional Carnatic music playing on the day I went and good, behaved and friendly staff. The food is a derivative of sauces primarily but good nonetheless. Just a heads up, the kulfi isn't like what we get in India and that's probably in order to adjust for any other pallettes apart from Indian.

Bought take-away and went to Grantchester Meadows, opened the bag and there was no cutlery. How tf am I supposed to eat that.... luckily I found a shoespoon in my backpack. Eating with that now. No paper tissues either. Food is okay.

Wow I must say this is the best Indian food I have ever had. We booked a table and was surprised how busy it was for a Monday . We were given a window table and I watched on how the staff had a eye on each table making sure everyone was happy. When the food arrive it was just amazing. Little extras free of charge which was so sweet, the Lamb curry wad so lovely just how I would make it and it tasted better than mine which has never happened before from any Indian curry house in Cambridge.Must say I was blown away the whole thing was just amazing.Thank you for coming to Cambridge and opening such a lovely place

Well, There's a lot of tolerable taste difference between Indian dish made in India to to that of and Indian dish made in a British restaurant. which is acceptable, hence i see a lot of good comments, which led me to this restaurant, but vending off a burnt dish as being well cooked authentic, wasn't something that the hosts should never try. It may be acceptable to locals who would have never tried these dishes . I did tell the owner/waiter of the unhappy experience but it was responded as its how the dish is made - burnt for having it well cooked. ..this post is to make the owners understand that Food business is not a joke,...every customer counts.

I really enjoyed this restaurant. The food is a bit different from the usual Bengali style having many dishes from South India on offer. The restaurant was buzzing with activity on a wet Monday night which can't be bad. The service was fairly prompt despite it being busy. Prices normal - around £9 to £10 for a main course. Recommended for a visit.

Fantastic, authentic food. We had three vegetarian side dishes, butter paneer, kashmiri aloo, tamarind aubergine. All were tremendous, well spiced, and with a depth of flavour and understanding of the dishes that's rare to find. Staff friendly and lovely.
