WARNING: Disgusting and appalling service from Katie Thorpe and others at this practice. I suggest you go elsewhere for proper animal care. From the beginning of transferring our pets to a new veterinary practice, it has been an awful experience and with less than thirty days from signing up, I am leaving. I suggest you read between the lines from all the positive" reviews. We were unable to transfer our pets for some odd reason from Vets4Pets so this left us no choice but to start afresh and sign up with Companion Care from scratch and pay for two months ahead on all of the plans. This wasn't an issue at all but some patience might have been nice from the receptionist due to us having six animals. I don't remember her name but the communication was very poor and rude. However

Shoved a poor helpless dog out the door 40 minutes down the road to out of hours knowing full well he needed urgent care. All because you wanted to go home to your pets & family. & now a family are without their pet because of your negligence!! You let him die! Disgraceful! Do not take your pets here.

Don’t take your pet here , I took my dog to companion care weston super mare the vet was told she had blood coming out of both ends she was given pain killers and anti inflammatory injection I wasn’t happy so took got to an emergency vet in Bridgwater at 1 am she was kept in for 2 days and nearly died of dehydration she had an irritation in the stomach and her insides were basically bleeding and needed antibiotics and placed on a drip she should never havecome home from companion care , when I took her to Bridgwater they know exactly what was wrong with her straight away , treated her and saved her like , I have no confidence in companion care all they want to to is keep getting you to keep coming back paying the fees don’t take your pet here after reading other reviews now I really wish I didn’t

I rang, after seeing my cat had been bitten and was told to take her straight down. They were so kind to me and treated Taylor brilliantly. Such a fantastic vet

Poor service, twice I was given a date and time and I never get times wrong, I turned up once to be told I was an hour early and today I was told my appointment was 1740 documentated in work and personal diary whilst on phone to them only to have them ring at 1730 today saying my appointment was 17:20, and the vet was too busy now to see me. 17:40 you can't get that time wrong. The 1st time they admitted that their system had 2 different times one correct one incorrect, I have 2 cats. In addition, I have always waited at least 30 minutes to be seen after my appointed time .They are rationing the imminisations apparently due to a national shortage and I booked my kitties for the penultimate day before I would have to restart the immunisations. The receptionist said I had 6 months after boosters were due to have them before restarting course, she was incorrect, due to titre levels. I rang a new vet being seen tomorrow for boosters. My opinion don’t even waste your time with them, I overheard an old lady moaning that she had been with them for years and would not see her poorly dog for over a week.

I don’t usually leave reviews but I wanted to add this to anyone who might be in a situation like we were.On Saturday my family dog was put to sleep. This is the most difficult decision and heartbreaking for the family. My father has had our dog (who was 14 when he passed) at this vet the pups whole life. When it was time, we were repeatedly told to bring him in. At over 40kg for a dog who could barely walk, this is so cruel and unfair. We all know vets can drive out (we live 5 mins) for an extra cost. They refused to come out to put the dog to sleep, saying he had to be brought in and there was no way that anyone would come out.We eventually found someone to come down from READING to put him down in the security and comfort of his own home where he went peacefully and didn’t have to move a muscle or be dragged through a pet shop. In his final few weeks, we would send videos to ask opinions. They refused to even watch them and said that he must be brought in (obviously a money issue but we would of paid anything, again he’s been at this vet for 14 years!!!). We said over and over he’s too large to be carried and the car ride and walk into the shop/stress is too much for him. They didn’t care. This review is mainly to say that this branch of companion care showed no compassion for my dog, who I see as a brother. They didn’t offer what was best for him, and we’re quite rude, even making my father feel guilty about not bringing him in. There were no options given to us nor another vet to contact. It felt so wrong to have put him through that ordeal which would of terrified him and he certainly wouldn’t of gone peacefully.I will avoid these branches at all cost and everyone I’ve spoken to says that they’ve had issues here. I know we all have bad days but if you work in customer service and have heart wrenching moments like this, it’s just unacceptable to treat families like this.

I immediately changed vets and made a second appointment elsewhere after coming here, staff were very rude and inconsiderate.Never had a problem with the practice in Bristol only this one. Charged me £39 for ‘admin fee’ after being with the vet less than 5 minutes who couldn’t give me any information, the fee is because their not ‘outcome based’ which is ridiculous. Save your money and go elsewhere our new vet is lovely and provided a much better service even through this pandemic! Says a lot.
