I recently had a wonderful birthday lunch for 33 guests, which Riddle's Court hosted exceptionally well. They didn't put a foot wrong: the seating layout, table settings, standard of service and atmospheric ambience made it a memorable occasion, and all the guests commented on what a lovely venue it was, and how attentive and friendly the staff were. Special thanks to Fiona and Erin for a lovely afternoon.

This is a building steeped in history. From the minute you enter you can feel the heritage, see the love that has been put into the restoration and you can tell the staff are proud to work in the establishment. I was here for a work event and would highly recommend it.

Woeful bar. No ales of any sort, just lager, cider. Very poor, considering the amount of breweries in Edinburgh

An absolutely stunning venue - recently attended a wedding here and its such a beautiful setting. Some of the interesting features are painted ceilings, panelled walls and the integration of original features that have been relocated within the building. As its just off the Royal Mile its easy to get to and there are lots of good tra sport links nearby (buses and the station is a short walk away). Because it's tucked away just off the Royal Mile, you escape dome of the nocie of the street and feel transported somewhere else.

Riddles Court, ‘Vivendo Discimus’: This Latin inscription above the archway means ‘By Living We Learn’,A building signifies wisdom and intellect. The people are dead but their philosophy were inscribed on the walls. World Heritage site. Building and architecture, Takes you back into time and how the thinking prevails and how Learning ideas originated. From this place. Quite an amazing unusual place

We had a wonderful wedding at Riddles Court. We booked the venue, unseen, in early summer 2020, and from the first enquiry the team were incredibly professional, helpful and supportive, and with a genuine warmth and enthusiasm for the success of our wedding day.We were organising the wedding across the pandemic and the team did a wonderful job to help and support our enquiries, being very professional while always working and communicating government restrictions clearly, but being as flexible as they could be, within those rules. The venue was beautiful and we were thrilled with the choice. It had a wonderful ambience. Our guests all commented on what a great location it is. It’s perfect to be in the centre of the city, and also very close to the registrars office for collecting and dropping of the relevant paperwork. We stayed in the Kings Chamber on site before and after the wedding, and this was great. The apartment is decorated beautifully and it a perfect location to stay in the city. It was also very useful to have a spot on site to get ready and take deliveries, etc for the day.We felt it was also good value for money.

Noisy bar until we’ll past 10pm, metres from 7 year old daughters bedroom. I hate the fringe at night. No consideration at all for residents.

I walked to work for many years the same way but this day I decided walk up the Royal Mile for a change up..it was lovely and quiet..where its normally one of the busiest areas in Edinburgh..I stopped and just before the steps down by the castle I saw this lane tucked away. So much information on the walls about the history of the area..then opens up to reveal beautiful architecture kept so well. Cared for..you can stay near here..uts beautiful if I had more time I would have taken in more of the history..a gem

Absolutely stunning elopement venue in the heart of Edinburgh Old town, with an abundance of natural light - where classy meets historic and cosy.
