Bang in Wells
I visited Wells this week and this hotel was lovely. Giant room, friendly staff, free milk for tea (and happy to accommodate oat milk). Also nice breakfast included. I especially appreciated the book on smuggling in the Norfolk coast which was provided in my room, as it gave me a fascinating insight into local history which really tied in my explorations of the area. Will definitely come back. Thankyou!

Great little spot. They managed to squeeze 8 of us in without a reservation on Sat for lunch. Everyone's dishes were fab (Mac N Cheese, smoked mackerel, mussels.) The star of the show in their Bloody Mary! Can't wait to go back and try more from their menu!

Bang in Wells Next the Sea is a dog-friendly bistro offering a splendid selection of seafood. The menu blends traditional English dishes with several European and Asian alternatives, such as paella and curry, and includes a daily catch of fish. The beverage options were excellent, especially the wine and the guest ale.The service was friendly, and the food was promptly prepared and served. However, we felt somewhat neglected as the restaurant was preparing for a busy Thursday evening during our visit from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Consequently, the dessert options were limited to ice cream, as the kitchen was gearing up for the evening rush. The staff missed opportunities to offer hot drinks at the end of the meal. The burger was quite enjoyable, albeit slightly overcooked and dry. This tendency to prepare beef well done by default seems common in the area. The fish and chips were also tasty, but don't expect the portion size of a typical fish and chip shop. The side salads were flavorful and fresh. Our 8-year-old son thoroughly enjoyed his seafood platter, with his only comment being that it was a bit salty. Nonetheless, this didn't prevent him from finishing the entire plate. In conclusion, we had a pleasant meal, but it didn't leave us thoroughly impressed, and we departed with a slight sense of disappointment.

We came here for a group dinner. Service was good - despite it being busy, they managed to find us a space by the window where we could keep an eye on our bikes outside. The food was excellent but a little pricey and smaller portions than we were expecting, though it was well presented. There's a nice buzzing atmosphere, with vibrant colourful decor and has a winebar/restaurant feel - there's also a small intimate outdoor seating area around the back.

Lovely lunch, mussels and macaroni cheese. Very pleasant young waiter who nothing was too much trouble for, brought water for our dog, we sat outside but he offered to relocate us if it became too chilly for us.

Excellent food. Very nicely cooked and didn't have long to wait. We chose to eat here because of the good gluten free choices. Restaurant decoration is really refreshing and bright. We have eaten here twice in 4 days so it must be good.

Humorous name and very nice fresh decor. Unfortunately the food and drinks were a little disappointing, we had the veggie breakfast and it was a good size but the scrambled eggs were very soft and wet and I don't know many veggies or vegans who like the vegetable sausages so that made it a little less enjoyable. Perhaps the oat milk they had had been left open too long but the flat white was very sour and as I'm sure many people have experienced, when you're looking forward to your first coffee of the day and it's not good, it just makes you grumpy. Alas, that is the plight of a vegan. Cannot fault the staff or the beautiful courtyard garden and I'm sure a non veggie/vegan will have a very enjoyable breakfast here.

Had a lovely meal and staff were friendly and initially found us a table as we had not booked, food arrived with a short wait and was very good. Unfortunately once we had eaten our main course, we had trouble attracting attention of waiting staff both to order additional drinks and for desert. The table was not cleared and we gave up on ordering deserts and decided to leave as we had been waiting for some time. We had to wait a considerable amount of time to attract attention to ask for the bill and then again for the bill to arrive. I accept that the restaurant was busy but overall I felt the service let the venue down I am afraid.

Came for a quick lunch several days ago, and had a lovely time. Lovely casual and upbeat setting with stellar service and awesome food. The paella was particularly fantastic! Often quite busy around lunch time, so make sure you book!
