Flour and Spoon Chelmsford

Lovely food upstairs, great coffee and everything well priced, tasty and with great twists. Sourdough delicious. Service a little slow but wouldn't downvote it's only recently opened so I'm sure they'll figure it out.

Great treats, good coffee & my girlfriend loved her hot chocolate and sourdough toast. Waitress was really attentive and helpful. We’ll definitely return!

Popped in this morning for the first time. Really nice coffee, lovely scone and very attractive setting.I hope they do really well as it's so nice to have an independent bakery in town

Went in for a cappuccino and almond crossiant and was pleasantly surprised, great coffee and so happy to see a local business sorting other local businesses. I’ve since been back for cakes to share with the family and all went down a treat!

Visited on opening day, so was very busy. Depsite this, the staff were very polite and accommodating.They had a vast and impressive selection of sweet and savoury baked goods on offer - all of which looked stunning and were clearly freshly baked.The thing that impressed me the most about this place was the pricing, I was pleasantly surprised. They do not currently have any pricing out, so it's a bit of a guess when you get to the till, but don't let that put you off. I paid £11.50 for a large slice of cake, a brownie and a large Latte. I found this to be very reasonably priced. The coffee was great, and the cake/brownie were fresh and tasty!My only comment for improvement would be some lighting inside on the ground floor. It seemed a little dark and dingey and took away from the vibe.Overall, I'll definitely be back again and again!

I visited for the first time with my wife, who had eaten here before. The menu is varied and we were definitely spoilt for choice from a reasonably priced menu.We both indulged in a Hangover Bagel, consisting of toasted bagel, egg, bacon, sausage, onion relish and salad garnish. Freshly prepared and served with a smile from the pleasant waitress.We were warmly welcomed by the staff and the first floor seating area is spacious bright and airy and a comfortable place to dine.I would highly recommend a visit to the Flour & Spoon

Great new option in Chelmsford for sit in bakery absolutely brilliant food and very reasonable prices. Every time we’ve visited we’ve been greeted with a warm smile and great selection of baked goods.Upstairs offers additional seating and although you can’t take a pram upstairs there’s safe area downstairs where they can be left.Definitely worth a visit.

The long awaited opening of the flour and spoon that l have been following on Instagram. I decided to take my wife for lunch. Well l wish l had not bother. Staff were unwelcoming, service poor, we waited 40 minutes plus, for bacon brioche bun with two rashers of bacon for £8.95. Should have come with slaw and tomato relish. No slaw and tomato relish turned out to be tomato sauce. I ordered a bagel with one slice sausage and fried egg for £9.95.They also had run out of some items on menu at lunchtime Monday.Not a good start to a new business and differently would not return.

I bought a plain bagel and a viennese whirl and it came to nearly £9! The items were OK but not worth that and after contacting them they issued a voucher as I'd been overcharged.
