Popped in while walking around Gala and very impressed very clean with excellent staff. Coffee and cake was great then to be told it was home made surprised us. Worth a 2nd visit next time we are in Gala.

Absolutely amazing. Best cakes I've tasted. Owner gave us free cheesecake to try. Couldn't pick a more delightful place. We visited from Penicuik. Thanks soooo much for your feast of delights.

The Good Life Cafe
Popped in yesterday for lunch. I was greeted by friendly and ever so polite staff and chose to sit outside at one of their big round tables. Was about to finish up and pay but couldn't resist the sight of all those lovely-looking cakes on display. Opted for the carrot cake (it was mighty-sized, with great taste and texture).The whole place has a sense of labour of love about it, and yes, the name fits the warmth of its environment perfectly.

The Good Life Cafe
Visited a few times, not too far away from us. Always very friendly service and nice food. Cheese scones are actually really cheesy and not like some of those you get which profess to be cheese scones but are so far removed it is untrue! These are large and lovely. My only bug bear is that the tea could be a little stronger for my taste. Coffee good though according to my husband. Would definitely recommend and plan to return.

One of the best gluten free cakes I've ever had. The 'normal' cakes were huge, and looked fantastic. The owner was so lovely, and made it a very warm welcome even though we were just stopping by for a takeaway

Fantastic cafe! The most delicious cakes and super staff! Had afternoon tea with a stunning array of cakes - quite possibly the best cafe I’ve ever been to. Bought some quiche to take home too as it looked irresistible. An absolute asset to Galashiels! Cannot wait to visit again!
