Hillside Day Nursery

All 3 of my children attended Hillside Day Nursery Potterswood, and I have always felt relaxed knowing my children where safe, warm, fed & cared for in an appropriate manner. They’ve been able to explore in ways that they don’t at home, they’ve made mess, come home filthy, made friends & never come home asking not to go back to nursery.The managers & staff are welcoming too, you can approach anyone at any convenient time & they will give you their time & act upon your comments.

Both my boys have loved their time at Hillside day nursery. The eldest left two years ago and my youngest is currently in the baby room.Staff are professional and very friendly, food has always been brilliant and there is a great outdoor area for all kids.

Whilst our son is quite shy he has really loved his time at Hillside, making friends and learning things. The staff are really caring and work well with us to help him develop. Things have been hard during covid, as we have never been into the nursery and only drop him off and collect him from the doorway but the online Tapestry software is really helpful!

I heard from a friend of the local butcher that Hillside Day Nursery has produced some of the finest contributors to our history, Alexander Fleming, Issac Newton and Napoleon Bonaparte (please note that I have not fact checked these claims), so when deciding on a nursery for my daughter, Hillside was the obvious choice (it’s also within walking distance).My daughter (now aged 132 weeks) has been attending Hillside for 372 working days (excluding bank holidays), during which time her personality has flourished, as has her speech, vocabulary, cognitive processes, she has stopped using the c word and she has gotten at least 6 inches taller. All of this I attribute to the love and support of all the staff at Hillside (who I trust more with my daughters safety than some family members).I also heard from the brother in law of a local shop owner that other nursery’s in the area had been attended by the likes of Charles Manson, Dennis Nilsen and Keir Starmer, so I’d steer well clear of them.All of my daughters needs are met, she is fed, watered, safe and happy, and she has made lots of friends. We get a daily report on her behaviour, what they have spent the day doing, and regular learning reviews and updates.I would recommend Hillside Day Nursery to other parents and score them 5 out of 5 sparkling unicorns. If you don’t believe me ask Clive, he’s the brother in law of the owner of the fruit and veg shop on the high street.

I have two children currently at Hillside Day nursery, in baby room and pre-school and I am very happy with my decision to send my children here while I am at work nearby. I know that they are well cared for and the staff are fantastic. My eldest daughter has been coming here for 3 years and the consistent staffing means that she has built genuine strong attachments to her key workers. My daughter was so settled here that I maintained her sessions throughout my maternity leave, despite living a half hour drive away. Returning to work after maternity leave with my son was made so much easier because I was confident that he would love it here- and he does.We are leaving Bristol in the summer and have had to try and find a nursery in our new city that we like as much - Hillside has set the bar pretty high! We will really miss the Hillside team and their excellent care.

My son has attended Hillside for almost a year and a half and I can not fault them!I trust them completely to care for my child, while making sure he is happy and safe.We feel welcomed at every drop off. Communication from them is great, all staff are very personable and approachable.My son has developed really lovely relationships with both staff and other children who attend and certainly enjoys his time there!

My daughter has attended the Preschool at Hillside Day Nursery since January 2021 and she loves it there. She settled in brilliantly thanks to the excellent, caring staff and can't wait to go back each week. She is thriving at Hillside, has made lots of friends and is learning so much thanks to the hard work of all the great staff and the lovely environment they have created for the children. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hillside to other parents.

As an Early Years Teacher, choosing which nursery to send my daughter to wasn't an easy decision. However on discovering Hillside Day Nursery, I was really confident it was the place for her! The staff are amazing and have all taken the time to get to know my daughter really well. She absolutely loves going to nursery and has made some love friendships.The team have been developing the environment over the past year and it looks exciting, engaging and beautiful!My daughter has developed in all areas of her learning, guided by the wonderful Hillside team. I would not hesitate to recommend the nursery to others.

My daughter started at Hillside when she was 9 months old and I returned to work after maternity leave. Everyone at Hillside made this transition a smooth one and were incredibly understanding and supportive. My little girl is now 16 months old and has settled very well, thanks to the good work of the staff. Who are kind, caring and understanding. I have noticed her time at Hillside has had a truly positive influence on her, particularly in her interaction and play with other children. My little girl has formed some lovely relationships with the staff and clearly enjoys her time at Hillside. The activities and play the children have the opportunity to take part in are fun and interesting and there is a really nice sense of community with the children, parents and staff. I would recommend Hillside to any parent looking for a nursery for your little one.
