Brantry Wood
Lovely place to go for a walk. Not far from Eglish. There are three colour coded trails through the woods. The two circular walks are the green trail at 3km and the red trail at 1km. The blue trail is 0.2km linear walk and takes you to a lake. You can park at Brantry lodge and can also walk around the 2km circular walk around Brantry lough, which is a purple colour coded walk. There is disabled parking at the lodge.

Brantry Wood
Visited the wood on a dry but cool Spring day and enjoyed walking along the green, red and blue trails. The car park and trails are busy on a Sunday but quiet the rest of the week.A lot of the woods on the lough side of the green and blue trails have been cut down and it means that on a hot day that you will need to wear sunblock because the paths are very exposed. The paths are well maintained and accessible to most people. There are also benches placed at regular intervals.Picnic benches are located next to the car park.We saw very little dog fouling and no litter. The car park is free. The buildings, information boards and waymarks are all well maintained. There is plenty of birdlife too. We saw bullfinches, chaffinches, robins, wrens and chiffchaffs.I recommend this walk if you live locally or are visiting the area.
