We did do our research and a visit before booking this for my daughter so we were quite aware of some of the negatives highlighted by others. However, they were good value, looked decent enough and we went ahead and booked it. That's when things went downhill. Moving-in day was busy and a bit frantic but we weren't prepared for how dirty the room would be and how tired the contents were. It felt like someone had left the day before and we'd been allowed to move straight in. There were marks all over the walls, stains on the curtains, clear evidence of previous flooding, rust on the appliances and feet missing off the chairs. To date, nothing has been done about these. More recently, she's been without a functioning toilet and not helped at all initially; she had to go to the shopping center. Eventually, she was given a key to another room to use that toilet but it was full of faeces from other people and smelled. The hob in her room was swapped over to induction without telling her so she was without pans. For the last 3 days, she's been without lights as they're old and can't be fixed". On the upside

This is honestly a horrible accommodation to live in. The staff will be dismissive of your issues and will discriminate against you. They will also enter your room whenever they want, even if you’re not there, without approaching you or asking for your permission first. The corridors stink and the laundry area is always dirty.

I moved here as I started a new job in London and my new tenancy hadn’t started. I booked on Air BnB as it looked clean, there were clear policies about the use of drugs and noise levels so I thought it was the perfect choice. When I first arrived, the kitchen was filthy, my room was boiling hot and the entire premises smelt of Marijuana. The windows only open about an inch due to safety reasons, but it is almost impossible to sleep due to the heat. There were people playing music, shouting and smoking throughout the night in the courtyard, but I couldn’t close my window as it was too hot. I complained about this multiple times, and despite being told my concerns were being addressed, nothing changed for the entirety of my stay. One night at 00:30am I called the front desk to ask if something could be done about the noise levels, and I was told I was living in student halls so what did I expect? However the policy clearly states that noise levels should be kept to a minimum after 10pm and the use of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited. I would not have booked here had I known that the policies set up by the company themselves were not being enforced. Overall, my stay has not been comfortable, I am incredibly sleep deprived and so glad that I don’t have to stay there anymore. I do not recommend this place to anyone, it should be avoided at all costs.

It's a fantastic location. Room is a bit smaller than expected but still pretty good. The shared kitchens are good for interaction with your neighbors and cooking. Maintenance is quick and the staff is helpful

do not stay here. with how much you’re required to pay here weekly, what you get in return is ridiculous. the worst is that there is NO ventilation in your room or the corridors or even the kitchens. your windows are restricted to about an inch to be open. which becomes less when you have two thick blocks either side of the window blocking half of this anyway. they say this is all for safety but i don’t think any human could possibly fit through a window that opens downward by an inch. it’s unbearable and unless you have a fan you probably wouldn’t survive. it’s also noisy and maintenance will come into your room unannounced. terrible place.

I am currently living here. Don't come here guys. The company has no responsibility. Heaters are not working. Me and my flatmates have reported to the reception but no one cares. It is not being repaired and it is very cold now. People with no responsibility. You should be shame. You take our money but you have no responsibility.

Extremely Disappointed Stay: Unreasonable Room Design at IQ Sterling CourtI am deeply dissatisfied and disappointed with the room layout at IQ Sterling Court. The lack of a range hood in the studio unit is incredibly unreasonable, resulting in the entire room being filled with smoke every time I cook. Additionally, the window design is utterly counterproductive and fails to provide any ventilation whatsoever. It is impossible to adequately air out the room. This has made my living conditions unbearable.Furthermore, after taking a shower, I experience symptoms of low blood sugar, dizziness, and nausea. This is entirely due to the lack of proper ventilation in the room, leading to excessive humidity and inadequate oxygen supply. I am incredibly frustrated and disgusted by the design and maintenance of such a room.As a tenant, I expected to find a comfortable and safe accommodation at IQ Sterling Court. However, their room layout lacks any reasonable considerations. The absence of a range hood and the ineffective window design have caused significant inconvenience and health issues in my daily life.I strongly urge IQ Sterling Court to improve and update their room facilities to provide a better living experience. They should consider installing range hoods and redesigning the windows to ensure that tenants can enjoy a healthy indoor environment and comfortable living conditions. In conclusion, I am thoroughly disappointed with the room design at IQ Sterling Court. They need to take immediate action to address these serious concerns and provide a satisfactory living experience. I would not recommend anyone to choose this place as their accommodation unless these issues are resolved.

Good location, and fairly priced for London, but would not recommend. The rooms are constantly too hot, and the windows open no more than an inch (which they claim is for safety, but is in reality to stop residents throwing rubbish from their windows). This means the rooms do not circulate fresh air.Maintenance respond quickly to requests, but the quality of repairs vary massively. They got better over the year, in fairness. My patience eroded completely in the last few months of living here. They decided to start building large metal shed-like structures in the courtyard adjacent to East block, meaning there was constant noise (mostly loud, vulgar conversation amongst the workmen) from 7:30am onwards. They picked the worst time possible for this, as many students sit exams in May/June. I see no benefit that these works offer for paying residents, and don't understand why they didn't wait until the summer holidays to start them. The fire alarm goes off constantly, including at unsociable hours. Be prepared for a 3am fire alarm more than once. The bin situation is shocking, as they are now stored in the main building basement. This means they are a relatively long walk from the rooms, and the smell is vile - rubbish is stacked up next to the bins by lazy residents, and is allowed to pile up. I sympathise for cyclists, who are expected to store their bikes in the same room. The kitchens don't include a kettle or toaster, which is a tad ridiculous. They cost £7.50 each in Asda, and this is the only accommodation I've seen that doesn't include them. The reception staff are very friendly and helpful, particularly the gentlemen who work the night shift. They always made me feel welcome as I walked through reception.Wembley is a great place to live (well connected with good shops/facilities), and the rooms are a fair size. However, I wouldn't recommend living in Sterling Court.

Not worth the money at all, the place is like a construction site dont bother setting an alarm in the morning theres drills that wake you up. They said they were fixing the ventilation problems and they moved the windows an extra inch and the winter is getting colder but the heating does not even work and if you let them know all they do is say 'We WilL gEt iT FiXed' and nothing has been fixed ever since i complained.Cant even bring friends over im too embarrassed to show them this is how im living in LONDON

I lived here for a year.First, the staff will open your door without your consent. A stranger once opened my door after 6am one morning.Second, the staff will use the master card to enter your room and steal your stuff, especially something new. I lost a £100 T-shirt and a brand new bottle of Chanel facial cleanser.Third, the efficiency of the staff here is extremely low. When I first checked in last September, the heater in the room was always on and the switch was broken, I reported it to the staff, but it took almost 2 weeks for them to fix the problem.Fourth, the accommodation here is poor. The smoke alarm will alarm every time you expect it, whether it is late at night or in the afternoon. And you can never know whether you can take the elevator when you go out tomorrow, because it will be broken for a long time.To sum it up, unless you are going to sleep in a bridge hole in London, you should never live at IQ.
