Took 5 family members for a prebooked evening meal on a Saturday. Not overly busy but it took over an hour for our 1 course meal to arrive. Others came in, ordered and received their meals. Indeed the only other occupied table in our section came in, ordered. ate their meal and were leaving when we asked waitress where our meals were. She went to check and lo and behold she and another waitress appeared with all our six meals. Amazing! The food was good and all of us enjoyed our choices. But only the fact we had lots to chat about on a reunion meal stopped us getting really annoyed earlier. Been before with no problem.

Went today with a friend. waited over half an hour for my very poorly sized liver and onions with minimal veg, my friends omelette wasn't cooked in the middle, had to wait for another meal to be cooked . Liver and onions was luke warm but I was so hungry I ate it, wasn't full after, even though I'd had extra veg. We complained to the waitress and asked if we could have something free as compensation, she then went onto offer desserts ( which to us indicated these would be complementary) We got up to leave and was asked to pay for the desserts ( which we lead to believe were free, otherwise we wouldn't have had any ) then a stand up argument occurred with NO apology from the manageress. She said the fact that the omelette was cooked again was enough compensation The manageress had NO peoples skills, is in totally in the wrong job. Grudgingly we paid for 1 dessert. Meal portions are a disgrace for the price. AVOID at all costs , we won't be visiting this dive again. It doesn't deserve 1 star .!!!!!

Nice friendly club and reasonably priced. Annual membership but they also take a day membership if just visiting. Nice bar and the food looked really nice - we didn't eat though! Looked like 14 standard tables - didn't see if they had a match table, but either way couldn't fault ours anyway. Enjoy.

Fantastic friendly staff, excellent service, good range of ales and an unbelievable menu choice. Even since Covid, the limited" menu is extraordinary.Measures taken for C19 are best I've seen in this area.I do hope they survive in these tough times but believe there is politics affecting the business. If anyone knows the owner tell them this: It's taken years to get such a great team together. Don't throw it all away."

Saturday 25th we went for meal we have been there 5 times and the food has been wonderful but that night was disgraceful, the chips looked they were cooked the day before and again that night. the manager came to ask if everything was alright and I told him of our disgust and that we have had been 5 times and enjoyed every meal. I told him we will not be coming back his reply was if you do come back ask for frozen chips HOW DID HE GET THE POSITION OF MANAGER I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW?

I've been going here for years but would like to say the last few times ,I have not enjoyed my meal. The friends I went with said the same. I just wonder why as it as always been a good place to eat.

Went out for dinner saturday night, everywhere else was booked up solid.What a fantastic meal; Dinner for four with drinks £60. Two Steaks, fish and a meat pudding. Guinness lager and two shorts.You need to book but the food is good, we waited a while but its got to be cooked and plentifull, i had a problem eating it all.

I rate this place highly. Food excellent,freshly cooked and not overpriced and the service can't be beaten. Everyone is friendly and you are made to feel very welcome. Well worth a visit.

For treat for me and my partner we will go to the Snooker Club for Sunday lunch and we have never had a bad meal. My partner always has the fish which he says is excellent and I have the mixed meats which is also excellent. I love the different vegetables each time we go. The service is also great and the staff always makes us welcomed.Thank you

I've been here many times over the years, for meals with my Mother and my partner. I've also had a birthday party here for my 24th in 2004. It was great...we only had 1 meal order come out wrong out of about 25-30 ppl that went...so all in all not bad going.
