Mr Philip Rahmanou - Consultant Gynaecologist, Practice for Women

The most important thing for me in deciding to go ahead with the Sacrohysterpexy, an operation I had a mortal fear of, was to be able to trust and have faith in the skill of the surgeon performing the procedure. Philip Rahmanou went to great lengths to ensure I had all the information, both verbal and written, that I needed to make a decision. He answered my very many questions honestly, gave me details on my various options and even telephoned me just prior to my surgery in order to reassure me when I was having a major 'wobble'. Mr Rahmanou's empathy and concern for me was evident all through, from initial consultation to my post op check. He gave me advice on reducing the liklihood of further surgery and said I could contact him if I felt the need.Do I recommend him?..............Oh yes, I couldn't have been in safer hands, he cares.I should also have mentioned Mr Rahmanou's admin support.....Sasha. she was brilliant in facilitating and coordinating every step of the administration side of everything. It's always difficult when trying to choose a consultant, but luck was with me when I picked Philip Rahmanou. His kind, helpful manner really put me at ease and I found it very reassuring that he listened to everything I said. The double bonus was that it was really easy to get hold of his Secretary, Sasha and she rapidly got me all my appointments with him and I'm happy to say I have been signed off and am back to good health.So thank you, I would not hesitate to highly recommend him.

I saw Mr Rahmanou due to ongoing gynaecological concerns. Mr Rahmanou was very patient, understanding and knowledgeable about my symptoms. Following examination and discussions, the treatment options were carefully explained to me and I opted to have a hysterectomy. The surgery went very smoothly and the care that I received from Mr Rahmanou and the wider team at Winfield Hospital was exceptional, including the aftercare. I had complete trust in Mr Rahmanou throughout the process and have no hesitation in recommending him.

I had a subtotal hysterectomy performed by Mr Rahmanou towards the end of April 2022 and I have absolutely no regrets! He was very thorough and took me through all of my options, and explained the pros and cons for each, which enabled me to pick the treatment option that was right for me. He then fully supported my decision and gave me the best care possible. I felt totally comfortable and at ease talking to him about the problems I was having, and I am delighted with the outcome. I have been very pleased with my treatment by Mr Rahmanou. My initial consultation was very thorough and informative,. He gave me options on which to base my decision, as to what procedure I should have.The pre op consultation with nursing staff was very encouraging, allaying any concerns.The readiness of all staff involved in the procedure was brilliant. They took turns in visiting as soon as I was admitted to my room. They all explained what their function was and what would happen. This included nursing staff, anaesthetists and Mr Rahmanou.The procedure felt that it was over very quickly, with little or no pain, however various pain alleviating drugs were offered and explained by nursing staff, should I need them.Physiotherapy was explained the next day, . I was taken for a walk around the ward. I spent two nights in hospital, and I received two visits from Mr Rahmanou on my last day.The overall experience with fantastic, attentive nursing staff was excellent.I have since had a post op consultation with Mr Rahmanou, and a phone consultation with the physiotherapist to check how my exercises are going. A further appointment has been made with her, for early April.I am very happy with the whole experience and the results so far. I have always felt in safe and caring hand throughout the whole process.Thank you!

I will be eternally grateful to Mr Rahmanou for seeing me at very short notice whilst travelling in England from Australia. Four days into a six week holiday I had a prolapse. It took nearly three weeks to find a doctor who would see me and I was extremely fortunate that it was Mr Rahmanou.He was extremely professional, understanding, compassionate and listened to my questions before giving me his well considered options for my treatment.After fitting a pessary I was able to continue the remaining two weeks of my holiday in comfort and pain free.He has also written a thorough email for the doctor I will see back in Australia.I would highly recommend Mr Rahmanou to anyone experiencing uerogynecological problems.

I had a total laparascopic hysterectomy carried out by Mr Rahmanou in January 2022. Every step of the way I felt listened to and supported. The procedure went well and my recovery has been fantastic.
