My Grand Sons ashes, are in Clayton Wood, under a young Beech Tree, which is a young tree, but growing beautifully. I would like to ask when are more Trees going to be planted in the wood,As Clayton Wood has become my second home, I am very interested as to what is happening,I have always found,Tegue and Karen, to be so kind and helpful in all ways ,nothing seems to be any trouble,no matter how many times I keep asking questions, and calling them out of there office.

My father was buried here in winter 2015 and the utmost respect was given. Today I attended a funeral at clayton wood in summer and it was absolutley beautiful. The director so respectful and the gentlemen carrying and lowering the coffin showed the utmost respect and great care. The grounds are stunning. Yes in winter it gets muddy as its very exposed. I disagree with the negative post here regarding muddy paths as being disrespectful it is natural for it to be muddy in winter. I disagree with it being termed as a place people go to walk thier dogs and not to visit loved ones. That is a poor judgement to make. That person with a dog could be grieving a loved one and taking thier dog who is also grieving to thier place of rest.I Reccomend clayton wood highly. For a personal respectful send off in the most stunning grounds.Thankyou to these dedicated people showing the utmost respect for our loved ones.

Bad experience with clayton wood. We buried our baby boy there and one of the main reason's we chose clayton wood was because it stated in they're advertisement that we could have a tree planted in his memory to not only visit him and his grave but to also see, what would of been our son's tree, develop and grow above his grave in his memory and eventually see it develop into a new woods. But in fact this wasn't the case and was told they are cuttting back on the amount of tree's planted due to local trust policies. We also booked his funeral well in advance to have his wooden plaque on the day but it was not there and had to wait weeks longer than the agreed date to be told it was a mistake on our behalf. Also they do not have any involvement nor are willing to help with any part of the funeral after several attempts which i found highly insensitive and slightly offensive in our hour of need. Overall i found they're staff highly unhelpful, unwilling, and insensitive considering the circustances and had the impression that this was just a business to them and not helping someone bury they're 1 week old son.

Sorry I would have agreed with the reviews a few years ago but no longer. Clayton Wood has declined considerably. My parents in law are laid to rest in Hornbeam Glade. Due to the uncared for muddy footpaths people are walking through Hornbeam Glade creating a muddy footpath right in front of their resting place. That is not good enough and is disrespectful. Do not attempt to visit Clayton Wood at the weekend as the carpark and drive is crammed with cars. Most of these people are walking in the country with family and dogs not visiting loved ones. It appears that as little as possible is done at Clayton Wood now. Saddened and angry.

I have two close relatives buried here. It's an amazing setting and looks so different season to season. It arguably has some of the most desirable views of the South Downs and although trains do go past, it's not an issue. I've been to regular cemeteries, which seem to invite gloom and impose somber moods. Clayton Wood doesn't. The open grounds, the trees, stream and so on, together with the South Downs (including the windmill) make it a relaxing place to be. Which is exactly what you want really, as it makes visiting that much easier and I think that's kind of the point. If you want to pay your respects to someone and visit their grave, it helps that you don't see concrete everywhere, but instead surrounded by nature. It's nice to be able to pair an unhappy moment (the death of a loved one) with a good location like Clayton Woods. For me, I think of the neighbouring woods, the trees in the grounds and the massive hills (downs) surrounding it, when I think of my brother and father who are buried there. In doing this, Clayton Woods have swapped sadness for beauty and it makes me smile to think of those two in such a wonderful setting.
