We went in October 23 no booking needed as it was a Monday. Our group had beer battered fish and chips and steak and ale pie. Both was absolutely delicious. The pie was off the chart ! All filled with huge chunks of steak and fabulous gravy.

This was our 2nd visit to the woolpack and it won't be our last, lovely food, staff very friendly and efficient. We visited in December and several people were having the Christmas menu, however I was disappointed there were no Christmas decorations inside, hence the 4 star rating for atmosphere.

This lovely place will be a pub I can call my local soon. Everyone loves the food there, for good reason, it is that good, I was there with friends and the biggest dog there ever was. The staff were super kind and the patrons there were too, that says a lot to me. Fantastic beers there, the landlord and the staff are a class act as well. Looking forward to going back!

Cosy inviting interior and a warm welcome.A fantastic selection of drinks and a couple of fires to keep the place warm.The service was great and the food was perfect and reasonably priced.The place was alive with regulars and it was nice to see such a warm social environment.

Excellent pub. Friendly staff and excellent food, with only a short waiting time.We live in Derby so not local, but visited a couple of years ago and was impressed. We returned as we were holidaying in the area and knew we would get good food and good service. We weren't disappointed.

My girlfriend and I recently went to this pub, based on the good reviews of previous customers.I was very disappointed with my Lamb Hotpot, which consisted mostly of re-heated roast potatoes and a tiny smear of blandly seasoned lamb sauce underneath.This was presented with a few sticks of carrot, some broccoli and cabbage.This was on their specials board and was charged at £19, incredibly overpriced.I mentioned this to a chap whom I believe to be the landlord, he in turn went to check in the kitchen before coming back to me and agreeing that the portion sizes do look a little small and blamed the person who prepped the dish the day before.My girlfriends mushroom risotto was, by contrast, very nice.

Called in for a snack on Saturday lunchtime. Helpful, friendly service and an excellent sandwich. Great beer too! Lovely local pub. Water bowl brought for our dog. We will definitely return.

Lovely pub in a great location. Drinks nice and cold and food very tasty. Second time at The Woolpack and this time had the large mix grill. All i can say is what a challenge but what a meal superbly cooked and well worth the money. Staff member was welcoming and attentive and pub was clean and tidy.Another visit to this pub and once again staff and food superb. Not enough stars to add to this establishment.
