GAIL's Bakery South Lambeth

After trying delivery of cinnamon buns I finally went to the shop in person. I definitely recommend going there in person as there are more variety and choices there than the online order. The cinnamon buns are flaky and full of cinnamon sugar which is super yummy, all the croissant dough items such as the almond croissant and pain au chocolate are really good. Also the egg sandwich item is really yummy and coffees are really good. Some items such as the blueberry and custard buns and leftover croissant dough chocolate buns are less value for money ( they are ok but are not exceptional). The staff are really friendly and definitely recommend a visit.

I have been a lifelong Gail’s fan and this relatively new branch doesn’t disappoint.The staff aren’t talkative and there’s no greeting, but the top quality food and coffee make up for it.I am pleased to see there was a large selection of baked goods even fairly late afternoon on a Sunday, which makes for a treat of choice rather than selecting only from what is left.It was fairly clean and tidy when I visited, with free hand sanitiser (which more food venues have stopped!) and no rubbish around.

Regular Sundays breakfast customer this place is so nice. Atmosphere is welcoming, food is good and members of staff are amazing!! Barista makes such a good coffee !!!

GAIL’s is a cafe chain that has locations all around London. This review will cover our experience at the South Lambeth location. This review does not reflect every GAIL’s location.Ok, we’ve visited here over 5 times now, the food is of excellent quality. Plenty of options, good pastries, variety, a few cool ideas & quality bread.On most of our visits the service has been “ok”. The staff behind the tills are great, when it comes to any issues, so far they have been disappointing.On one of our occasions we had an issue with our food, basically they got it slightly wrong, a member of staff was at our table, told us they will sort it out. After about 15 minutes we got the idea no one was coming to sort anything out. So we had to go to the till, at this point they were quite helpful, but I feel could have been better. Anyway long story short, after about 5 minutes of messing around we came to the conclusion they had charged us £9.50 too much & got confused with what we ordered, they issued a refund for the amount & we got our food.It’s worth noting they were incredibly busy during this time, all seating was full & there was a perpetual queue. However, I don’t think this is an excuse as there are plenty of other food locations that I know would have dealt with this much better, and have done.Please don’t let this take away from GAIL’s as a whole though, the food is fantastic, and that’s what mostly matters.

It’s not cheap, but they have the best pastry I know of. Their cakes are delicious, and the bread is also great. I don’t know how their coffee is, as I seldom drink that, but the tea is good. I visit Gail’s almost daily, when I’m in London.

Every table is hogged by laptops, sucking out any atmosphere. It feels more like an office than a bakery/cafe. Finding a table very difficult.Coffee and food is nice though.

A lovely little bakery and cafe in Vauxhall. A couple of minutes' walk from the Thames.Excellent croissants and coffee. I had a chocolate and almond croissant with a dark chocolate mocha. The croissant was perfectly absorbent - there were hardly any drips when I dunked it in the mocha and lifted it out.It isn't very often that I manage to keep my shirt clean when consuming this combination.The only down side was that they refused to let me know when my drinks were ready as I wanted to sit outside.

Love this bakery in our neighborhood. It has a nice indoor and outdoor(when weather permits) seating areas. We have been here before and have sent our out of town visitors, who stayed with us, here for their morning bf and coffee. My fav to get here is seed sour dough bread and soy latte.
