A really lovely evening at Spelt. The food was delicious and the service friendly. It is relaxed, but the quality of the restaurant is very good. Plenty of vegetarian options. Well cooked, tasty fish dishes. Dogs welcome. Although the restaurant is small, it is divided into 3 rooms, so we didn’t feel cramped. The parking is either in the high street, or a very close public car park. A good find in a pretty town.

Fabulous Sunday lunch. We visited as a birthday meal, and wanted to try out the lunch. It was one of the best Sunday lunches we've had when eating out. The meal was cooked to perfection, with the meat delicious and roast potatoes so tasty. It was busy, so you really should book as it's a relatively small restaurant, but that added to the atmosphere. Staff were attentive and polite. Spelt also now serve beers from local nano-brewery, Cottage Beer Project, and the Doodle Pale was a great match.They have a good range of other drink types too.

Fantastic meal last night at Spelt. We are on holiday down here and went with our friends who we are staying with. All the staff were friendly, helpful and very professional. The meals were amazing, cooked to perfection and complimented by the amazing local beer we drank from “Cottage Beer Project” I can highly recommend their “Doodle Pale Ale”.

We travel from Guernsey to Bampton bi-annually and never go without booking a table at Spelt, we really like the atmosphere and food here. Their lunchtime front of house staff; Sarah and Claire are nothing short of wonderful and the meals Donna creates are absolutely superb!

As always a meal to remember. We dined here on Monday with our two children as we are visiting over the half term holidays. Spelt really is a true gem, from the moment you step in you are made to feel so welcome, a personal hello from Paul the owner and the staff always so friendly, warm and attentive. The food, no matter what you order on the menu is on another level- so fresh and delicious. My children are the pickiest eaters and testament to Spelt, there were clean plates all round! We can't wait to come back again when we next visit. If you are in the area, book in advance, you won't regret it!

Had an absolutely fantastic meal at Spelt, a perfect neighbourhood restaurant, fantastic food and great local beer. Excellent choice of food, both for veggies & meat eaters, lovely cauliflower main, great burger too, excellent puddings. The staff were very welcoming, friendly & had a great knowledge of everything they served. Great price for the quality of the food too, can’t wait to go back, maybe for the Sunday roasts!

My wife and I had a lovely meal in this village restaurant last week. What a great find, food was excelent and very well priced for its quality, staff were friendly and polte and the atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing. Would go back if in the area again.

Trying to think of a time I ate out and had nicer food. We had hake and blade of beef. Both were amazing examples of what can be done with local produce. Even the new potatoes were cooked to perfection. Michelin starred grub at half the price.
