Birkrigg Common
Cold and empty but a beautiful place to visit any time of the year

Beautiful walks here but again, another place been spoilt by mountain bikes. The whole area is saturated at the moment with the rain and drivers are just heading out onto any patch of land they see to park leaving huge ruts behind them. Then they turn out their kids on bikes and churn it up even more, damaging the infrastructure of the area.....

Great views from Birkrigg Common. Climb to the trig point and check out the stone circle. Lovely views of Bardsea village and surrounding fells.

A lovely place for a wild and windy walk - fantastic views of the sea and the fells. Delightfully unspoilt.

Limestone pavements and a stone circle. Fantastic views to the Lake District Fells and over Morecambe Bay.

An amazing place, full of history with more historical sites being uncovered due to the hard work of the Morecambe Bay Partnership. A great place for a walk, run or ride, with some incredible views of the Cumbrian mountains to the north, Black Combe and the Isle of Man to the west, and Blackpool and beyond to the south.

What better than a hike up Birkrigg Common on the Furness Peninsula to inhale glorious fresh air and as the old saying goes blow away the cobwebs"! At its summit peak of 136 metres a vast area as far as the Yorkshire Dales and distant Blackpool across Morecambe Bay can be viewed. Naturally rich in Limestone it boasts several footpaths in the area to explore with arguably an ancient Bronze Age stone circle as the significant historical feature of interest."
