Log House Holidays

Wow. We are just back from spending 1 week at Island Lodge. Simply stunning location and cabin. The photos looked amazing before we went but it's even better when you're there. The hot tub was so special especially at night watching the stars when all we heard were owls and foxes calling. The bird life is varied and we were lucky enough to see otters twice. If you're looking to recharge your batteries and need some peace then I strongly recommend you book some time at Log House Holidays. Very dog friendly place too which is great as if you're like us you wouldn't go without that vital family member. Honestly, do yourself a favour and book a stay there. I promise you'll never regret it.

We have just returned from a long weekend in the smallest cabin. Immediately booked again for next year. Stunning views and a luxury cabin, so many little details made this such a special stay. Blankets to use outside, a pair of binoculars, marshmallow and shortbread.i could go on and on. It is not cheap, if fact it is the most we have ever paid for a short break but you definitely get value for money.

Have just arrived home from a long weekend in the biggest house they rent with enough accommodation for 11 people. It is one of the nicest places I've been to. Very comfortable and an absolutely stunning location. The log houses are well built and Mayo Landing is on it's own island which is idyllic. We had fun swimming in the lake and swimming pool and the free rowing boat was well used among our party. It's not a cheap choice but it is well worth it. My only issue was with the rule that guests have to strip their beds and put all dirty laundry in laundry bags out the back. I felt for the price, that should have been done for us. Apart from the rowing boat, everything else; pool, jacuzzi, paddle boards, kayaks, are extra, which, again, I feel maybe the paddle boards/kayaks could've been thrown into the price. Having said that, I would highly recommend a stay here. Get 10 of your favourite people and book it at the next available slot. It gets booked up quickly, way in advance, so dither no more and get your credit card out!

The best family Easter holiday we have ever had, we had such a great time, The Moondara cabin that we stayed in was absolutely beautiful and had everything and more, the little extras where a real treat, I loved the bath salts. The kids loved the freebie shortbread that melted in your mouth. I would definitely recommend this tranquil place. Even though the lake was fully booked the cabins are so far apart you actually felt like you were there alone and had the lake to yourself. The Kayaks where fully enjoyed and the relaxing Finnish hot tub was very well used. There isn't anything I can say I would change or add only Thank you to Anthony and family for sharing your beautiful treasure. We will definitely be returning.

This place is just amazing, a real gem. If you're looking to get away from it all and have pure relaxation this is a great choice. We visited as a family of 4 with our beloved dog. Our chosen cabin was lake springs and this, in our opinion, had the best view of the lake. The rowing boat was fabulous fun for all, and the hot tub a welcome treat. I even braved a swim in the lake, being October it was freezing but so clean and wonderful. The lodge never felt cold, and so protected for the elements, it was cozy and comfortable. Kitchen well stocked with equipment and also supplied with j cloth, dish soap, towel etc so you're good to go! Outside the lodge the tree swing chair was a fav for our girls and the area around the cabin fabulous for our dog to roam and sniff. Also there are blankets supplied for outside, round the fire pit or snuggling up with a cuppa to watch the sunrise.A truly wonderful break, and we will definitely be rebooking for another restful holiday! Such an incredibly beautiful, serene location. Highlights include watching the changing colours as the day unfolds over the lake, having a BBQ on our log cabin deck, rowing silently out on our boat to watch the sunset, eating marshmallows around our firepit, gently swinging on our private seat overlooking the lake. This is the best holiday location I have ever visited in England! It is, quite simply, superb.

An excellent place to stay. Beautiful setting. Very well runSpent our evenings lying in the hot tub trying to identify star constellations......it's a tough job.....but somebody has to do it!!!!

We adored our holiday at Log House and couldn't have asked for more in a such a stunning, relaxing setting. Perhaps true testament to how lovely the cabin and lake was is that despite not seeing the sun while we were there we still loved it for the coziness, relaxing atmosphere and beauty - such as the morning mist on the lake. Would highly recommend it for a Autumn/winter getaway and hope to go back to see it in the summer!

Visited Mayo Landing in August 2015 for a week. 4 adults and 4 children aged between 10 - 13. We could not have picked a more serene place to stay. The lakes are beautiful and although the weather wasn't brilliant it didn't affect our holiday. We hired a couple of kayaks and these were a must for the kids (and adults). We took our 2 dogs and they had a blast running around and jumping in the water. If you go you must get the hot tub. Its a lovely place to be at the end of the evening with a glass of wine and a sunset. The cabin itself was homely, warm and luxurious with all the things you could need for a week away. Ordered a shopping delivery for when we arrived and we were all set. An amazing place which you will love. Already booked to go back next year. Dont miss out. Thank you Anthony. We loved it!!!!

I just got back from the most wonderful 5 days in Island Lodge with my family. Having read the trip advisor reviews before going I was expecting good things but I was unprepared for the experience that we had. Log House Holidays exceeded our expectations in every way. The cabin itself was beautiful, cozy and welcoming and we were struck by the quality of all the finishings. The bathroom was great and what a shower! We were very lucky with the weather and spent the majority of our time out in the boat or chilling on the deck. The wildlife is stunning and the lake changes character throughout the day. The first morning we were up watching the sunrise which was glorious. By the end of the first full day we all felt totally relaxed, as if we'd been away for a week and had already booked for next year. I would recommend it to anyone. The staff are so helpful and kind, it really is a wonderful place. Why go abroad?
