AVOID this letting company at all costs!!!!This company is THEEEEEE worst student letting company in Plymouth. I'm with Student Choice now and there is such a difference in the quality of service and the maintenance of the house. Home and Student Link will ignore your calls, they will bypass and delay your requests by asking you to log them in a crappy online system - and they won't sort anything out unless you do this. When I turned up to the house, my room was filthy, the heating didn't work for months, and at the end of the year, they not only refused to give us compensation for the heating bills, but they took money from our deposits because apparently the house wasn't clean WHICH IT WAS.You will seriously regret picking this student letting company!!! DO NOT use Home and Student Link!

Absolutely awful customer service. DO NOT RENT ANY PROPERTY THAT INVOLVES DEALING WITH THESE PEOPLE!They will repeatedly put you off, and ignore you, when you call with issues and make you feel worthless. They never fix any problems, or make it seem like only your problem. They will basically just take your money and run, once they have your money they don't care about any problems you may have.If you have a scroll through the reviews, you will see that the only positive reviews come from Landlords. That's because the landlords are happy that Home and Student Link ignore all the problems the students have and don't maintain houses to an acceptable level - thus saving the landlords money. You will be hard pressed to find any student that's happy with the service Home and Student Link provide - and the students are the customers, not the landlords!!!!!!

This is honestly the worst company I have ever been with. The staff are rude and arrogant and will never reply to any emails and when you call them to ask for something, they will say the person who deals with it is in a ‘meeting’ every time and that they will get back in touch with you when they are out, but they never do. It took way over a month to get our deposits back and they didnt respond to us on numerous occasions.Throughout being with them they may have responded to 1 in every 10 emails we sent them. Would highly recommend staying away and going with any other housing company that actually cares for their tenants :-)

Nightmare. It has been a nightmare all year, not only did we move into a house in which items were literally failing apart from the get go due to poor maintenance but when notifying the agency of this it took weeks for us to get our kitchen lights working. Our bathroom lights still do not work, despite numerous phone calls, our internet went down for weeks before they managed to get someone out. They are a money leeching company looking to exploit students, I would recommend that anyone stays clear of this company.

We want to thank the team at home and student link for their on going support and friendly, helpful nature throughout the last year.You have all been extremely proactive with any problems that we have had since moving into the property, and every single query has been answered or resolved within 24hours and for that we are extremely grateful.Due to this, it was inevitable that we would chose to stay with home and student link for the foreseeable future. We are also all very pleased to be staying in the same property, so again, thanks for enabling this to happen.

DO NOT USE!!!!This company" will try and take as much money from you. I only got my deposit back by complaining to the regional manager repeatedly

A big thank you to all of the staff at Home and Student link.A very reliable and conscientious letting agency.The staff are very friendly and helpful, and should any issue arise, it is dealt with promptly.The Peninsula accommodation itself is fantastic ( being a new build ) with en-suite bathrooms, and a great location, close to local transport links, the Hospital, and the University.Home and Student link provide a strong, solid, reliable service, and it has been a pleasure to be one of their tenants.Wishing all the best to the staff for the future.If you are looking for the best in lettings, then Home and Student Link cannot be faulted.

Absolutely awful, it took 3 months to get any of my deposit back. They consistently took weeks to reply to emails, and then when I would phone they would refuse to speak to me.Would I ever recommend them to a friend? Absolutely not.There are much better student housing agencies located in Plymouth than this one.

Where do I start? My house was a joint tenancy with home and student link and two landlords (we were never informed which individual was actually our landlord). From the first day I moved in our house was filthy. The last person who bathed in my en suite had obviously decided they didn't want to clean it and the housing agency/landlords had decided not to clean it out, my room was also full of dust/cobwebs and mould! There was no storage space and the bed was so uncomfortable. Our first issue was as soon as we moved in we had no heating - in September this wasn't so much an issue however we had no heating for three months! This made the mould grow thick and fast which made us all very ill. To come home from university with deadlines and have to be in a freezing cold room which lead to illnesses was far from ideal. We complained tirelessly and after a month were finally told we had to log" our complaints on the website for anything to be done. After one month we were given small electric heaters which did not heat our large rooms and led to us using a lot of electricity (which the housing agency complained to us about). At one point our hot water also went for a week

Beware students, stay away!This review refers to Your Move, however they trade under Home and Student Link. The staff of either treat students with absolutely no respect and will try to take as much money from deposits without justification.My partner had this agency for 1 year as a student in Plymouth. Throughout the year many issues with the house occurred, which were often ignored or responded to months later. These included serious issues such a leaking ceiling (which eventually fell through) and faulty kitchen appliances which safety checks were out of date.Moreover, in the days before she left, their personal contractor visited without 24 hours notice. This not being a particular issue to a group of students, HOWEVER, he did take the hoover in the house??? Why you ask? It can only be assumed to be an elaborate plot to hinder the cleaning efforts of the group, to force charges from the students deposits. Bit sly that.The company then proceeded to charge £180 of £250 deposit. They even charged for items that were never on the original inventory list. Also charging for stains which were on the inventory upon arrival. This company has without doubt lied and tried to take money whenever they could.Utter incompetence, Your Move/Home and Student Link: the lack of effort and care of the office staff and the contractors.BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE
